Time for another sneak peek from the new Annual Catalog (which starts on June 1st).  This is one of the make & takes we made at Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage event a few weeks ago.  It uses all of the products in the Delightful Daisy Suite: Daisy Delight Bundle (Daisy Delight stamp set & Daisy Punch) Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, Faceted Gems, and the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon.  The colors and prints in this designer paper is fresh and fun and you’re going to love creating with it.

Let’s Take a Closer Look

You can see here how the main daisy image was stamped twice on Whisper White card stock with Daffodil Delight ink then punched out twice with the Daisy Punch.  By offsetting the flower petals you get the appearance of a much fuller daisy.  The Gold Faceted Gem in the center of the flower is the perfect finishing touch.

Measurements: Pool Party: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″, Delightful Daisy DSP 4-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ and 4-1/4″ x 1/2″, Whisper White: 1″ x 4-1/4″ for banner and scrap for daisies,

Tip: Just a bit of stamping of the leaves on the card base before adding the main elements helps to ground the focal image.  Even the sentiment comes in the Daisy Delight stamp set.

Let’s Take a Closer Look

I inked up the Dragonfly wings in Elegant Eggplant and stamped off on scratch paper before  stamping on the Whisper White cardstock.  Next I cut out the dragonfly with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and popped it up off the card with a couple trimmed pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This really adds to the depth and dimension on this card.

Stampin’ Studio Tips

Measurements: Whisper White Thick cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Elegant Eggplant: 5-1/4″ x 4″, Whisper White: 5-1/5″ x 3-7/8″, 1/2″ x 2″ for banner, Old Olive: scrap for dragonfly.

Tip: Add a bit of unexpected bling with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  The stamp for the sentiment actually says “get well sooner”.  I colored the stamp with the Elegant Eggplant marker and simply omitted the “er” in sooner to end up with a sentiment of “get well soon”.

Heartfelt Sympathy Card

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set, Stampin' Studio

Do you have a hard time creating sympathy cards?  I think the key is to keep it simple.  Generally you want something a bit understated.  This sympathy card is great to have on hand because it could be used for a man or woman.  The earthy color palette of Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Delightful Dijon tie in well with the natural design of the font  intertwining with the vines.

Let’s Take a Closer Look

Check out the beautiful font in the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.  I stamped on Very Vanilla card stock then framed the sentiment with a circle window cut out of the Old Olive card stock with the Layering Circle Framelits.  This adds a bit more interest and depth, rather than mounting a circle on top of a square.  The Delightful Dijon Mini Striped Ribbon pairs nicely with the Moroccan Designer Series Paper (both of which are on the Retiring Products List)

Stampin’ Studio Tips

Measurements: Delightful Dijon card stock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″, Very Vanilla card stock: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and 3″ x 3″, Old Olive card stock: 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″, Moroccan DSP: 2″ x 5-1/4″

Tips: To get the two toned sentiment, I stamped the image in Delightful Dijon and “stamped off” once before I colored the leaves and vines with the Old Olive marker.  Next I “huffed” on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamped it on the Very Vanilla card stock.
