Stampin' Up! Make a Medallion stamp set, Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack, Sale-a-bration 2017

Isn’t this new Glimmer Paper pretty?  I didn’t want it to overpower the design so I used just a strip of it and topped it with the medallion border from the Flourishing Thinlits.  One thing I really like about the Make a Medallion stamp set is that you can keep it simple with just one image or you can build a more elaborate medallion by stamping another intertwining image inside the first.  In this card I used three different medallion images plus the sentiment to achieve the look I was going for.  I also chose to add some texture to the background with the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Stampin’ Studio Tips:

  • Coordination: The Make a Medallion stamp set coordinates beautifully with the Layering Circles Framelits
  • Sizes: Night of Navy is 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 1″. Mint Macron is 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Whisper White is 4-1/2″ x 1-1/2″.  Glimmer Paper is 4-1/2″ x 3/4″.

Soft & Sweet with Avant Garden

My initial thought when I first saw the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Avant Garden was rather cool.  After seeing some stunning samples and playing around with the set, I must say I’ve really warmed up to it.  With today’s card we’ve got a soft & sweet look when we stick with the color palette from the Falling in Love designer series Paper.

The Stitched Shapes Framelits hits the mark here when paired with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  The look reminds me of a cameo.  Now add  Very Vanilla 1/4″Satin Ribbon and the new Lace Doilies and Pearls and you’ve got yourself a soft & sweet birthday card.   Tip:  Did you know that the new Lace Doilies are reversible?  Yes, that’s right: one side is Very Vanilla and the other side is Whisper White- makes them super versatile.  Don’t forget, you can get the Avant Garden stamp set for free with a $50 order through March 31st.

Cupcake & Carousels Product Suite

I remember how exciting it was as a kid to stand in line waiting to get on the carousel and the carnival.  I’d study each of the horses and pick out the one I wanted to ride when it was my turn.  This card reminds me of those summer days many years ago.  The Cupcakes & Carousels Product Suite from the Occasions catalog features the Carousel Birthday stamp set which was used for this card.

The vintage horse could be colored in with great detail or in this case just the pole was highlighted with color.   The pretty sentiment also comes from the Carousel Birthday stamp set and adds more to the carnival theme.  The color palette for the card came directly from the Cupckaes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack which was also used on the card.
