Monochromatic Sympathy Card

Today’s card was created by team member Lorri Nastala and it features a monochromatic Sympathy card.  The simplest way to create a monochromatic card is by using one color of ink and stamping it over and over without inking the stamp again.

Start with stamping the flowers from Butterfly Basics in Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock.  Next, using the “swoosh” image from Work of Art ink it up in Perfect Plum ink and stamp it once on the lower edge, a second time in the middle without inking it up, and a third time near the top without inking it up again.  There you’ve got a monochromatic look.  The card is finished with the sentiment from  Thoughts & Prayers.

Places You’ll Go

How about a super fun baby card using the Places You’ll Go stamp set?  This is one of the cards my team member Amanda Waldhart made for our Pool Party Summer Splash Stamp Camp a few weeks ago.

I love how Amanda used the stamp set in an unexpected way by pairing it with the sentiment from Happy Happenings stamp set.  The globe of the world makes the Places You’ll Go stamp set perfect for someone who’s far from home, or retiring, or graduating…  See how versatile this set is?  The globe was punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch and the heart was cut out with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and popped up with a dimensional.

Frog made with Fox Builder Punch

Today is the last installment of Punch Art Creations…this time I’ve got a frog made with Fox Builder Punch.  Over the last three days I’ve shared a chick, mouse and teddy bear all created with the Fox Builder Punch.  Now let me walk you through the creation of this frog.

The card base is Basic Black cut 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″.  I cut the front of the card in half and 2 1/8″.  After attaching a piece of Wild Wasabi Designer Series Paper to the remaining front flap, I used the 2″ Circle punch to punch a half circle from the front flap.  The inside of the card has a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of whisper white which I colored on a little patch of grass with an Aqua Painter for the frog to sit on.  Now, for building the frog…I used the head and body from the Fox Builder Punch and cut the ears off the head.  I stamped the legs from the Foxy Friends stamp set onto the body and then attached four of the “tufts” making them become the frog’s feet.  The eyes come from the Owl Builder Punch with the largest punched in Wild Wasabi, the medium in Whisper White and the tiny ones in Basic Black for the pupils.  I drew the squiggly mouth with a the Basic Black Marker and painted on some rosy cheeks with the Aqua painter.  For the last step I created a banner with the Banner Triple Punch and stamped the sentiment from Greatest Greetings.
