Trip of a lifetime!

Dave and I returned late Sunday night from our tip of a lifetime.  I earned the Stampin’ Up! Annual Incentive trip to the Mediterranean for two (so of course I brought Dave along).  Since Italy has always been on our Bucket List, we decided to leave  8 days early and have more time exploring Italy.  We left on the 13th and arrived in Rome on the 14th.  We spent 3  days in Rome, 2 days in Florence, 2 days in Venice, 1 day in Barcelona, Spain on our own and then we hopped on the cruise ship for the Stampin’ Up! part of the vacation.  While on the cruise we enjoyed exploring Naples, Lavorno, and Piza, Italy and Cannes and Marseilles, France before returning to Barcelona.  The trip was beyond anything we could have dreamed of

While on the cruise Stampin’ Up! showers us with gifts every day.  First of all they have a hospitality room where everyday we spin the wheel and win a prize and then each night when we return to our room on the ship there’s a gift waiting for us.

FREE from Stampin' Up!We received tons of new product from the new catalog (which by the way starts tomorrow:  we can all order from it tomorrow!).  I got 5 packages of Designer Series Paper, a package of card stock, 5 new stamp sets, 5 rolls of  new ribbon, new washi tape, new doilies,  new embellishments, new bags, new boxes, new ink, new bakers twine, a new thinlits die, a new punch, the new Tin of Cards, and a new Project Life kit with embellishments.  The new product we received totaled $370!!!!  We also got an adorable Stampin’ Up! hat, and T shirt, a Dooney & Bourke Purse, and a collapsible bag and Stampin’ Up! treated to two great shows while on the trip.

Most people think we’re stamping and learning stuff the whole trip:  Not so, it’s vacation for all of us so very little is stamping related.   Our first day at sea we had a short general session where there were a couple stamping demonstrations and then there was a make & take session where we made the following projects which feature the new Touches of Texture stamp set.

Touches of Texture

Dapper Denim, a new In Color, was used for the card base as well as some of the Moroccan Designer Series Washi Tape.

 Touches of Texture

This card features leaves of Emerald Envy, another new In Color.

Touches of TextureWe also made this fun tag which uses the Moroccan Designer Series Paper.

Half Panel Card

Today’s card is a simple yet unusual fold.  Well not really a fold because, honestly the card is just folded in half.  What makes it unusual is that someone took a bite out of the card.

Wild About Flowers

The card base is Pacific Point cut 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″.  Next I cut half of the front of the card off horizontally.  After attaching a piece of Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack to the front panel I used the 2″ Circle Punch and “took a bite” out of the panel.  The rest is simple stamping using the Wild About Flowers stamp set and the sentiment from Birthday Blooms.

No Bones About It

Check out this adorable dinosaur card I received using the No Bones About It stamp set.

No Bones About It

The bones of the dinosaur are stamped on the Window Sheet and when you lift that up…

No Bones About it

…you can see the rest of the dinosaur.  How cute is that.
