An unexpected surprise

As I’m getting ready to head off to Salt Lake City next week for On Stage Live (this is a new event that is taking the place on convention) I was looking through some photos I had taken of  display board last July.  This was one of my favorites.

Birthday card

What I Love about this card:

  • I love the bright festive colors of this card: Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, and Crushed Curry really pop on the Whisper White background.
  • I love the happy font of the “happy” from the Hello You Thinlits and how it is balance with the Bermuda Bay Banner at the top.
  • My favorite thing is how the candles from the Build a Birthday peek through the opening which was cut out with the Circle Collection Framelits.  It’s unexpected and a nice surprise.

Dreams do come true!

I had a dream to create Stampin’ Videos from my newly redecorated Stampin’ Studio.  So now that the studio is done I had to try my hand at making videos.  It’s a very scary thought for someone who struggles with anything technical.  But I thought well, I’ll give it a try because even if I blow it you guys are all very forgiving and it would be okay.  So I put on my big girl panties and mustered up the courage to give it a try.  Here goes:  This is the video of the Twist & Turn Card I posted yesterday.

If you cannot view the video above, click here to see it on my YouTube channel.

Happy Birthday Peggy

I’m sure that those of you that follow me regularly know that the Peggy I am wishing Happy Birthday to is my best friend, my sister, my partner in crime, Peggy Murwin.

Partners in Crime

Look closely, we’re not smoking cigars, we’re smoking clothes pins…that’s just us being sill at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat last month!   As a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’m sure she can appreciate the fact that I’m posting her card here on my blog before she actually receives it!

They Say it's Your Birthday

I had a lot of fun making Twist & Turn cards at my Fun Folds Card Class last month, so I decided to make one for Peggy’s birthday card.  Besides that she’s holding a Fun Folds card class this month and I thought she might want one of these as a sample.

Celebrate You

Here’s what the inside of the card looks like before I make it all personal for her (gotta save something to surprise her when she gets it).  When I posted my Twist & Turn cards a few weeks ago you can view those here and here, I got many requests as to how I made it.  I will be posting a video on the Twist & Turn card tomorrow (that is if all goes well).  I played around and made my first video yesterday.  I edited it, and put it to music and everything (this non-techie girl is feeling mighty proud of herself for getting out of her comfort zone…kinda scary but fun at the same time).
