Make it Monday: Corrugated Card Stock

Today we’re going to talk about the awesome Corrugated Card Stock.  I’m so sad that it’s on the list of retiring products.

Corrugated Card Stock

I love the natural color of the paper and how it so easily adds texture to a project.  For this card it’s  unexpectedly paired with the delicate swirling leaves from the First Sight stamp set and the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack.  I think it makes the perfect contrasting statement that opposites can work very well together.  I also love the Sweetheart Punch and the heart from Itty Bitty Accents Punch paired together.

Don’t forget to check out all of the retiring products and get them before they’re gone for good.

Ombre Balloons

I wanted to share another card that I saw on the display boards at On Stage.  This card features the Ombre technique which is very on trend this year.

Fabulous Four

The balloon image comes from the Balloon Builders set and is stamped in Hello Honey (one of the retiring In Colors).  In order to get the ombre look, which is various shades of the same color, the balloons at the top of the card are stamped full strength and then as the images come down the card they’ve been stamped off once and then twice before stamping them on the card stock.  The finishing touch is the use of the sentiment from the Fabulous Four stamp set in Basic Black.  Fabulous Four is another item that is retiring.

Timeless Textures

Today’s card features the Timeless Textures stamp set.  This set is great because of all of the textural elements in the set.

Timeless Textures

The color palate of Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, Basic Grey and Whisper White set the tone for this feminine card.  The Butterflies Thinlits were used for the solid butterfly cut out and the Bold Butterfly Framelits were used for the “frilly” butterfly cut from Vellum Card Stock.  Vellum can be a little tricky to adhere to a card without showing the adhesive but in this case the Rhinestone Basic Jewels were strategically placed over the adhesive mark.
