Blendabilities: Colored Embossing & Pearls

I heard many “Wow’s” when I was demonstrating how to do Colored Embossing at my Blendabilities class earlier this week.  I stamped the floral border in Versamark on Basic Black card stock and heat embossed it with Whisper White Embossing Powder.  Then I used the brush tip from the lighted Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities to color over the embossed image.  I also used the Blendabilities to color the Pearls.  Two techniques on one card.  Another amazing this about Blendabilities is that you get a color family (light, medium, and dark) of one color in a package but when used individually, instead of blending colors, you open the pallet up to nearly all of the colors in the Stampin’ Up! palette. I used Strawberry Slush and Pear Pizzazz for the cardstock on this card, yet the Blendabilities used were Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Todays card features the Hombre Ribbon Technique using Coastal Cabana Blendabilities.  I colored the Whisper White Seam Binding with the brush tip end using the lightest shade on one end, the medium shade in the middle and the darkest shade on the opposite end. Quick and easy and coloring the Whisper White ribbon with your Blendabilities means you can have a ribbon in any of the colors you want.  I sponged Soft sky, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink over the Stars Decorative Mask for another hombre look.

Tools of the Trade: Blendabilities

We had a great time last night at my Tools of the Trade class.  This month feature “tool” or product is the Blendabilities.  Everyone received a package of Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities as part of the class fee.  Over the next few days I’ll be sharing all of the different techniques everyone learned at the class.  The first technique featured on the card above is blended coloring.  This is the way Blendabilities were designed to be used.  Isn’t it stunning with the new Beauty of the Season stamp set?  This set is in the new Holiday catalog and it is the one set that Stampin’ Up! is allowing everyone to order early, so you can get it now!
The blended technique is achieved by stamping the image in our Momento Ink and using the darkest of the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities along the outer edges of the cardinal using the fine tip end.  Next I used the middle shade of Cherry Cobbler and finally the lightest color blending each with small circular motions. The twigs were colored in with the medium shade of Old Olive.
Here is the inside of the card.  I love this fold, it’s so unexpected.  The card is Cherry Cobbler and is cut 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4 and is scored at 5 1/2″.
The next layer is Always Artichoke and the card stock measures 3 3/4″ x 9 1/2″ scored at 4 3/4″.  The top and inside layers are Whisper White card stock cut 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another way to use Blendabilities.
