Kleenex Box Holder

I’ve made a few comments over the past few weeks that my Stampin’ Studio at home is getting a face lift.  Well I am over the moon excited to tell you that it is now complete!   The colors in the room are Black and White with accents of Watermelon Wonder and Coastal Cabana (Coastal Cabana retired last year but it’s still a favorite of mine).   I spent the weekend decorating and making some accessories to go in the room.

Kleenex Box Holder

This Kleenex Box Holder is one of the projects I made so that everything coordinates.  Wanna know how I made it?

You know that white card board that comes in every package of Designer Series Paper?  That’s what I used for the base so that it would be sturdy enough.  I cut 2 pieces 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored them at 4 1/2″ and 9″.  I used Tear & Tape to attach these two pieces together to form the base of the box.

For the top of the box I used more of the card board, this time it’s cut 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″ on all for sides.  I trimmed off the corners with my Paper Snips and used the Oval Framelits and my Big Shot to give me the opening for the tissues to come out.  More Tear & Tape was used on the flaps to attach it to the inside of the base.  All that was left was to decorate so I layered the Watermelon Wonder Designer Paper from the 2015-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack on Basic Black card stock and tied some of the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in a bow and attached it around the box.

Are you ready to see pictures of my Stampin’ Studio?  Be sure to come back tomorrow and I’ll show you around.

Birthday Blooms in Blue

When I see the beautiful line art of this flower from Birthday Blooms I instinctively think it needs to be colored in with Blender Pens, Aqua Painters,  or Sponge Daubers when in reality its quite stunning when its simply stamped.

Birthday Blooms

Pacific Point and Whisper White card stock and the Brights Designer Series paper Stack are all that it takes to make this stunning card.  The sentiment on the banner, punched from the Triple Banner Punch, also comes from Birthday Blooms.  If you look closely you can see the final touch of some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter adorning the flower.

Bloomin’ Hearts

Sometimes when you see a sample of a project in one of the catalogs do you ever have it stuck in your head that that is the way to use the product?  I sure do, and a good example of that is the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die on page 16 of the Occasions catalog.  It’s shown with Blushing Bride and Rose Red so to me it says Valentines Day.  Well guess what?  It can be used with other colors and for other occasions!  Who Knew?

Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die

Here it is paired with Early Espresso and Gold Glimmer Paper and sponged with So Saffron for a totally different look.  It makes a stunning wedding card.  True to form with so many Stampin’ Up! products it has a coordinating partner.  Check out the flowers which were stamped with the coordinating Bloomin’ Love stamp set and then cut out with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits.  The Gold Embossing Powder coordinates beautifully with the Gold Glimmer  Paper.
