Embossed and Bleached

I wanted to share an amazing card I received at Founder’s Circle from Kelly Acheson.  We made this card at a few of my October parties and it was a huge hit.  This card is so much more than it appears in the photo.

The leaves from Lighthearted Leaves is Heat Embossed with Black Embossing Powder on Soft Suede card stock.  The next step is where all the magic happens.  Using regular household bleach and an Aqua Painter we painted the inside of the leaves with straight bleach. The bleach lifts the color from the card stock revealing (in this case) a light yellow image.  So everywhere you see the yellow color, that’s where the bleach was painted.  You really should give this technique a try, it’s so amazing.

Fall Fest: Final Project

The sixth and final project for Fall Fest was designed by team member and Fall Fest co-host Amanda Waldhart.

It was a set of four Note Cards and coordinating envelopes featuring the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and the coordinating Thinlits.

These super simple, yet beautiful cards, were available for the stampers to work on throughout the entire day.  Generally we have a designated time with which to work on a particular project, then those supplies are put away and the next project is brought out.

Since stampers work at different speeds, this allowed those fast stampers to move ahead and work on something else while others could move at their own pace throughout the day.

The colors used were Real Red and Mossy Meadow and we just added a Silver Foil “Ornament Topper” from the Delicate Ornament Thinlits.  The envelopes were stamped by coloring directly on the stamp with matching markers.

At the end of retreat as a final surprise, everyone got a wrapped gift…

Inside the pretty package was the Exclusive Hostess stamp set called
Six Sayings!

In addition to all 6 projects we made and all the goodies like the decorated 12″ x 12″ box for all their projects, the “Newbie” and all “All-timers” gifts, the French Fry Box filled with candy, the Berry Basket filled with Peanuts,
and lunch…

…here are all of the other freebies they received.

This is Amanda and me.  We had a blast at Fall Fest Retreat and so did everyone that attended.  Thanks for coming back day after day to see what we did at Fall Fest.

Tomorrow’s post will give you details on how you can get the tutorial or “Class to Go” for the Winter Wishes Framed Art.
