Fall Fest:Lunch Break

After a busy morning of stamping we took a break for lunch.

We decorated the tables with a fall theme.

Check out the napkin rings.  We used some of the Tangelo Twist Striped Cotton Ribbon as the ring and attached an acorn which was punched out of the Kraft Corrugated Paper with the Acorn Builder Punch and adorned with some Linen Thread.

Next we decorated a mason jar mug with some Burlap Ribbon, Fall leaves die cut from the Leaflet Framelits and finished them off with some Linen Thread and a clothespin.  Everyone got to take the mug home with them.

For lunch we served two soups, ham and turkey sandwiches…

…apple cider…

…and pumpkin bars.

When everyone returned from lunch and back for another round of stamping they each found a basket (made from the Berry Basket Die) filled with an afternoon snack of peanuts.  Check out the embellishment on the basket.  It says “Nuts about you”.

We played a couple of games.  Guess how many Washi Tape Rolls are in the jar.  There were 36!

Then there was time for swapping. Everyone that chose to participate in the card swap exchange also got their card entered in the card contest.  Check out the beautiful cards our stampers created for the contest:

And the winners were….

Maxine , who won the Cottage Greetings Card Kit and Sharon who won the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.

This was Sharon’s Frist Place card.

Here’s the inside, isn’t it beautiful?

And this is Maxine’s stunning creation that came in second place.

Well, believe it or not, we’re not even half way through Fall Fest!  that’s right I’ve got lots more to share with you so come back tomorrow for more stamping projects.

When I’m all done sharing Fall Fest Retreat with you, I’ll be sharing how you can make this stunning Winter Wishes Framed Art project.

Fall Fest: Project 2

I’m excited to share another class project card set we made at our Fall Fest Retreat over the weekend.

This set of cards features one of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday catalog.  It’s called Winter Wishes.  Let’s take an up close look at these cards.

For the first card I used the Masking Technique to achieve 2 skates on behind the other.  Here’s how I did it:

I stamped the skate on the left first.

I stamped the skate on a post-it note, cut it out and stuck it right on top of the first skate.

Next I stamped the skate a second time to the right and just slightly above the first skate stamping over the Post-it note.

Once I removed the Post-it Note, the second skate is revealed.

For the second card, I stamped the Pinecones in Early Espresso ink and colored over them with a blender pen.  This moves around the ink I already stamped and gives the pinecone a slightly darker color.

Card 3 is cut 5 1/2″ tall x 6 3/8″ wide and scored at 4 1/4″ which gives a fun 1/2 front to the card.

The final card in this set features Triple Time stamping.

I had so much fun creating this card set that I kept on playing and created this Framed Art Piece

It’s hard to tell from the photo but there’s lots of layers and dimension to the project.  This was a huge hit at Fall Fest and will be offering a class by mail kit  and a tutorial.  I will have it ready to purchase by November 1st so watch for that.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing some decorating ideas from Fall Fest as well as some more great fun from the day.  See you then.

Fall Fest: Project 1

Yesterdays’ post gave you a tiny taste of our Fall Fest Retreat.  Now I want to start showing you some of the Projects (think classes) that were all a part of Fall Fest.  Unlike other retreats, Fall Fest is a day long event that includes all of the classes in the fee.  Here is project 1.

A set of four cards created with the Vintage Leaves stamp set and coordinating Leaflets Framelits and the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The sentiments for the cards comes from the Endless Thanks stamp set.  Thanks to Selene Kempton for the inspiration for these cards.  We just changed a few little items on them.

The Boho Chic Embossing Folder was used to add great texture to the background.

I love the natural element of the Linen Thread on the leaves.

Here the large leaf was cut out of the Blackberry Bliss card stock and the Designer Paper was attached to the backside for an unexpected twist.

And here we have a touch of bling in the Gold Glitter Paper.

Be sure to check back tomorrow with a very special card set I created and a coordinating piece of framed art.  You will love this.
