I’m on my way to Salt Lake City very bright and early Wednesday morning with a great group of women from my Stampers Express Team for the Annual Stampin’ Up! Convention.  I’ve been busy getting swaps made.  I joined 2 swap groups this year.  Wednesday I’ll participate in a Shoe Box swap where we each design a card and then bring the supplies for everyone to make it.  I’ll be walking away from that event with 48 new card ideas.  Here’s my swap card:

Bomb Pop Punch Art

Do you remember these Bomb Pop Popsicle’s as a kid?  They were such a welcome treat on a superhot summer day.  The idea for the Bomb Pop came from fellow demonstrator Erica Cerwin.  I’m not sure how she made hers but I thought the idea was adorable.
 
 
The stamp set is called Sweetstack and I think it’s perfect for the card.  I layered Watermelon Wonder and Island Indigo on a strip of Whisper White card stock and cut the top and bottom of the pop with the Lots of Layers Framelits.
 
 
By inserting the Framelit as shown and running it through the Big Shot, it only cuts through the top edge.  Then just flip the piece around so the Island Indigo is on top and place the framelit the same way to cut.
The larger strip is 1 1/4″ wide and the narrow strip is 1″ wide. 
 
 
 
 
 

Non Typical Layout

I enjoy non typical card layouts.  I found this layout on the Mojo Monday web site quite a while back.  I love how the design of the card flows both vertically and horizontally and these sharp lines are softened by the oval focal point.
 
 
I started out with a piece of Whisper White Satin Ribbon on the card front followed by a piece of our new Corrugated Card Stock.  That stuff is awesome- it adds great texture to the project.   The paper ix 12″ x 12″ and comes with 2 sheets of Whisper White and 2 pieces of Kraft.  I stamped the flowers from Wild About You and the sentiment comes from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  The finishing touch is the Candy Dot accents.
