Magic Balloons

How about some magic birthday balloons with some new Specialty Designer Paper?  I don’t know if you’ve noticed it in the Sale-a-bration catalog or not, but on page 15 we have some of the most incredible Specialty Paper we’ve ever had!  It’s called Irresistibly Yours and it is irresistible!
The image of the paper in the catalog does not do it justice.  The paper is
12″ x12″ and it’s all white, but wait….if you look closely at the paper you’ll notice there is designed embossing on the sheets.  there are a total of 6 different designs and you get two sheets of each for a total of 12 sheets in the package.  Now, here’s where it becomes really special…. ink up a sponge dauber in a color of your choice (I used Bermuda Bay and Tangelo twist for the balloons).  Now rub the dauber across the specialty paper and watched the color appear and the embossed image resists the ink.  I cu the balloon image out with the Balloon Thinlits which coordinate with the Celebrate Today stamp set.  For the middle balloon, I stamped the stars and words on vellum card stock and cut it our with the Thinlits  also.  I added the bows (also from the Thinlits) and drew on the strings with coordinating markers.

Missing Middle Card

So the question of the day is; How do you make a card with the middle missing?  It’s a regular 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card but the middle of the card is gone.  So how did she do that?

I used Blackberry Bliss for the card base which is 5 1/2″ wide and 5 3/4″ long and is scored at 4 1/4″.  I also cut a piece for the bottom of the card
5 1/2″ x 1 1/2″.  The two pieces of Painted Blooms DSP are cut 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ and are attached to the top flap and the bottom piece of the card.

I stamped the flowers and stem from Painted Petals in Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss Ink on a piece of whisper White card stock which measures 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″.  The stamped image is matted with a piece of Hello Honey card stock that measures 2 3/4″ x 3″.

Now to bring it all together, I just attached a Stampin’ Dimensional to the backside of each corner of the Hello Honey card stock and attached it to the card front and bottom piece of the card.

Here you can see the inside of the card and can get a better idea of how the card image is attached with the middle of the card missing.
So leave a comment if you would and tell me how you like this card with the missing middle.

Sand & Water

In my opinion, you can’t go wrong if you you’ve got sand and water.  This makes a perfect card for a guy, a nature lover or someone facing a challenge.  The water image is from the “Adventure Bound” Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used Gorgeous Grunge for the texture on the Crumb Cake Sand.  The stamped image is from the stamp set Adventure Awaits and is stamped with Island Indigo ink on Natural White card stock.  The stamp set and DSP are bundled together in the Occasions catalog at a 15% savings (gotta love that!)  I finished the card off with the new White Jute Ribbon which I tied in a knot.
