Sometimes Ya Just Gotta Laugh!

When I saw the “From the Herd” stamp set in the Occasions catalog, it just made me laugh.  I don’t know if it’s the surprised look on all the critters faces or if it just reminds me of one of those family photos gone wrong.  Sometimes ya just gotta laugh, right?  Any way, I thought it would be fun to crop just part of the herd and put them on film.  Of course the “Snapshot” camera goes perfectly with the “On Film” Thinlits.  I debated what sentiment to put on it, and I finally ended up going with “What’s Up?” from the stamp set with the same name.

You Made My Day

I had a wonderful day on Saturday with a bunch of demonstrators from Wisconsin and Illinois that came for the demonstrator make & take Peggy (my sister) and I put on.  Some of these demonstrators are from my team and others are demo’s I’ve met throughout the years at various stamping events.  I consider all of them my friends.

Peggy and I pre-designed and cut 20 different cards with new product from the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs.  It’s really a lot of fun to stamp and chat and get lots of hands on experience with new product.

We also did a swap for those that wanted to participate.  This is the swap card I did for the Sale-a-bration catalog.  For the swap we could design anything using product from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  It uses the “Best Day Ever” stamp set and the “Best Year Ever” Designer Series Paper.

If you’d like to become part of the Stampin’ Up! family and part of my team, please contact me, I’d love to give you any information and help you with your decision.

Butterflies Thinlits are Amazing

If you’ve noticed the Butterflies Thinlits in the Occasions Catalog, I’m sure you loved it right away just like I did.  I wanted to share with you a little different way to use the Thinlits.  For this card I die cut the middle sized butterfly in Basic Black card stock and attached it to the Whisper White layer with our Multi-purpose (green) Glue.  Next I colored in the open spaces in the butterfly with Blendabilites.  I used the light and medium shades of Pumpkin Pie and the light shade of Daffodil Delight.  I also colored the pearls with the Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities.

I was a little scared of these Thinlits when I first saw them, because of the intricate design and how hard it might be to poke out all those little pieces.  Well, I have an awesome tip for you on how to make that easier.  You’ll build a “sandwhich” to run through the Big Shot in this order:
                                        1. Magnetic Platform
                                        2. Acrylic Plate
                                        3. Dryer Sheet
                                        4. Card Stock
                                        5. Waxed Paper
                                        6.Thinlit
                                        7. Acrylic Plate

When you run the layers through like this you’ll find that the waxed paper prevents the card stock from sticking to the inside of the thinlit and it will peel right out.  The dryer sheet collects all of the little pieces – in fact when you pull the cut out design off the dryer sheet you’ll find all the little pieces stuck to the dryer sheet.  If there are a few remaining still attached to the butterfly, you can easily pop them out of the butterfly by simply “flicking” the butterfly with your finger.  So simple and so easy.
