A card for him

One of the most common requests I get is for masculine cards.  Seems with all of our pretty flower, lacy and butterfly stamps, many of you struggle to come up with cards that are appropriate for the men in your life.  I’ll admit, at times I struggle with that too.  How about using the “Four Feathers” stamp set and coordinating Framelits?

One of my tips for many masculine cards is to keep the color palate in the neutral range.  I used Soft Suede and Natural White card stocks and I used Soft Suede ink for the feathers which I cut out with the “Feathers” Framelits and popped them up with Dimensionals.  Another tip is to use some natural elements; I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and the Linen Thread.  A simple greeting from “Remembering Your Birthday” on a banner finishes this card.

Wrapping it all up!

With just a few short days left until Christmas, I thought I’d share a special gift card I made.  I used the Scallop Tag Topper for the top of a 3″ x 3″ tag which I then layered a piece of Gold Foil Paper.  Next I used the Confetti Stars Punch on a piece of Whisper White card stock that layered on top of the Gold Foil, so that the pretty Gold stars showed through.  The greeting stamped in Cherry Cobbler is from the “Christmas Bliss” stamp set.

For the 3 dimensional gold star I got out my Stars Framelits and cut the smallest star from Gold Foil paper using my Big Shot.  I scored and folded the star to make it pop up and I attached it to the tag with our Multi Purpose Glue (Green Glue).  The tag was finished off with the Gold Bakers Twine.

Best Day Ever!

For as long as I can remember, my daughter Nicole  would tell me about her day and more days than not I would hear from her, “It was the best day ever”.  I squealed with delight when I saw this new Sale-a-bration stamp set called “Best Day Ever” and I knew I’d be using it to “Sale-a-brate” her graduation from Northwestern University in Minnesota.

We are so proud of her, she set her goal to finish her bachelors degree in 3 1/2 years.  She made a plan and worked very hard and on December 19th we drove up to the Twin Cities to watch her graduate.  We are so very proud of her.  Certainly a reason to Sale-a-brate!

Speaking of Sale-a-bration, I used many of the Sale-a-bration items in this card.  I’ve already mentioned the stamp set I used, but I also used the “Best Day Year Ever Designer Series Paper and the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack which contains 3 colors of ribbon (Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry which I used for the card) as well a 24 matching buttons.  These products are just a small sample of the incredible items available during Sale-a-bration, where you can earn a sale-a-bration item for every $50 in product you purchase.  If you haven’t already scheduled your Sale-a-bration party, please contact me to get it schedule.
