Snowman Punch Art Gate Fold

I love the versatility of our Stampin’ Up! punches.  I’ve seen so many unexpected things created with them.  This time the image is actually the negative space resulting from punching the card stock.

The inspiration for this card came from fellow demonstrator Ronda Wade.  Her card had half a snowman on it and I decided why not build the whole snowman.

It’s a gate fold because the two front panels of the card open from the middle to reveal the inside.  The card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ from both ends.

To make sure I had everything lined up exactly on both flaps, I first created a template with half of the punched out snowman that I could lay on top of each flap and when the card was closed those two half snowmen became a whole snowman.  I used the 2″ circle punch for the base of the snowman positioning the punch so that only 1/2 of the circle was cut on each flap

The middle of the snowman is punched with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch.

The snowman’s head is made from the 1″ Circle Punch.

For the snowman’s top hat I used the 1″ square punch and just using the top left corner of the punch.

The brim of the hat is created from the Bird Builder Punch using just the end of the branch.  Once the template was made, I just laid it on top of the right flap and punched out half the snowman.  Next I flipped the template over and punched the reverse snowman on the left flap.  By crating the template I made sure that each part of the snowman lined up.

I wanted his top hat to be black, so I simply attached a strip of Basic Black card stock inside the card to show through when the card was closed.  Rhinestones colored with Blendabilities finished this snowman off.

Washi Tape Words

I really enjoy working with Washi Tape as there are many ways to use it.  For the “Noel” on this card I attached different strips of Washi Tape to a piece of Whisper White card stock and cut out  “Noel” from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits with my Big Shot.  The banners on the card are also made of Washi Tape attached to card stock then snipped to make the banners.

My Awesome Team

These are the awesome women from my team that were able to make it to our team Christmas Party last weekend.  They are amazing women and we have a blast every time we get together.  If you love to stamp, save money, make money, hang out with fun people and share ideas, we’d love to have you join our team.

Team mate Maria Childers made this sweet wreath for our gift exchange.  She used squares of the All is Calm Designer Series Paper which were rolled into cone shapes to create the wreath.  A 3 dimentional star and ribbons finish off the festive décor piece.

Jenn Gross demonstrated making a stepped up version of the  Punch Board Gift Box by fancying up the flaps with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.
