Halloween Treat

I received this cute Halloween treat from friend and fellow demonstrator
Cindy O.  The ghost is a Tootsie Pop that has been wrapped in a coffee filter which was stamped with one of the faces from the “Fall Fest” stamp set and tied with our White & Tangerine Tango Two-Toned Trim.  The tag was made using the “Merry Everything” stamp set stamped in black Stazon and he the color was applied using sponge daubers.  I love that effect.  The image was punched out using the coordinating Note Tag Punch and then layered on the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
I think this would make a great Halloween treat to give out because these little guys would go together pretty quick.  What do you think?

It’s “Fall”-ish

After sharing a lot of Holiday cards lately, I thought I’d share a “fall”-ish card today.  Check out page 41 of the Holiday catalog…that’s where all the awesome element for this card came from. The stamp set is “For All Things” and I am simply in love with this set.  I love the watercolor look the images have.  My color palate comes from the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Papers: you can see this in the three strips of acorns.  I also used one of the three patterns of washi tape from the Color Me Autumn Designer Washi Tape package.  Of course these items can all be purchased and used separately, but you know how I enjoy coordination.

Layers and texture and shine, oh my!

For those that come and stamp with me at classes and parties, you know my motto…”if it doesn’t look quite right, add a layer.”  I love the look of matted layers on a card, it helps to frame the image and gives order to the project.  Texture is my second element of design, in this case it’s the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder on the Lost Lagoon card stock.  Texture adds depth and interest to the project and it is the easiest way to get those “ooh’s and aah’s” we all love to hear.  My last element of good design is shine, which can be found in the Silver Foil star on top of the tree.  “Shine” doesn’t have to be something shiny.  It can be achieved with any type of accessory, like ribbon, a button, pearl …

So, the next time you’re struggling with your card design, remember these three design elements and you’ll be able to create a masterpiece.
