Coordinating Polka Dots

I was thrilled when I saw the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder from
Sale-a-bration made it into the new annual catalog.  It’s a whimsical design with dots irregularly scattered across the page.  Then Stampin’ Up! also added the Moonlight Designer Series Paper with some of the prints featuring the same irregular dots.  You know how we love it when things coordinate.  Speaking of coordinating, the star image in the Something to Say stamp set has a coordinating punch.  Love it.

Bloom with Hope

As a demonstrator when we could place our order for a few select Pre order items from the catalog, this hostess stamp set it one that I chose because of the simplicity of the set.  It is called Bloom with Hope and it features sympathy and birthday in the set.  I used the new Project Life Corner Punch on the bottom edges of the card.  Let me just say this punch works much better than our previous corner punch.  I paired our new In color, Mossy Meadow with Blushing Bride for this simple card.

What’s in a name?

I get asked quite often when new colors are introduced to the Stampin’ Up! line up, who comes up with the names of the colors?  Years ago at one of my very first conventions I met a Stampin’ Up! employee who’s was on the team to name new colors.  How fun would that be?

When Nicole was younger and lived and breathed Stampin’ Up! along with me (she’s moved on from that in her life right now) we would try our hand at naming colors.  I remember one name we came up with for a yellowish-orange was Serene Sunset: doesn’t that sound pretty?  We also came up with a name for a deep purple which we named Bad Bruise!  Okay, maybe that one wasn’t so good… I guess I’ll stick to card making and leave the name calling to Stampin’ Up!

This card features the new In Color Tangelo Twist with Bermuda Bay.  I simply used one of the images from “Work of Art” stamp set and stamped it three times with Tangelo Twist without reinking the stamp.  That’s what gives the various shades of orange.  I paired it with Bermuda Bay for a fun color combination.
