Nature’s Beauty: Dave’s 3rd Annual Stamp Class

It all started 3 years ago when I had back surgery.  I had a class scheduled but wasn’t able to do the class, so my husband Dave taught the class for me.  My stampers loved it and said we should do it every year.  Dave’s is a great sport and said he would definitely do it once a year.  And  so, last night was Dave’s 3rd Annual Stamp Class.

Before I share more about his class, I want to remind you about the 24-Hour Stamp Sale that’s going on today.  Have you taken advantage of the 24-hour Stamp Sale?  That’s right, there’s a big bunch of stamp sets available at 15% off all day today.  You can see all of the stamp sets HERE and read all the details of the sale and place your order online or pop me an email and I’ll do it for you!

This year we chose for Dave to teach the class using the Nature’s Beauty stamp set.  This is a very special set because $3 of every sale of this set goes towards Mental Health Organizations.

I had a lot of fun designing the cards for this class and Dave and those at class had fun with it too.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Beauty stamp set, Crackle stamp, Stampin Studio

For this great masculine card, we used the Crackle background stamp (this is 15% off today).  The fox was stamped in Memento Ink and colored in with Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends as well as Light Smokey Slate.  The grass was stamped in Old Olive, then colored in with Old Olive ink and a Blender Pen.  Finally the sky was achieved by masking over the fox and sponging Pool Party ink over the mask before removing it.

Here you can see Dave totaling up all the orders from the class. I will be posting the other cards from Dave’s Nature’s Beauty Class in the upcoming days.

Metallic Copper Accents steal the show!

Whether it’s putting together an outfit, decorating your home or designing a card, many times it’s the little accents pieces that tend to pull a project together.  In today’s card, it’s the Metallic Copper Accents that really pull this all together.

Stampin' Up! Gather Together stamp set, Gathered Leaves Dies, Tags & Feathers Elements, Stampin' Studio

I used products from the Come to Gather Suite and added a few metallic copper accents for this fall card.  I added a layer of the Copper Foil Sheets to the Pretty Peacock card base.  On the Very Vanilla layer, I added more copper when I stamped the “specks” with the Celestial Copper Ink.  The plaid print leaf, which I cut out with the Gathered Leaves Dies from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper, ties in all of the colors I used on the card.  The three smaller leaves are all embossed as they are die cut including the one I cut out with more Copper Foil Paper.

One of my goals on this card was to use all of the products from the Come to Gather Suite, so I did some Copper Embossing on the “wood ring” from the Tags & Feathers Elements.  The sentiment, from the Gather Together stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with the Copper Embossing Powder.  I love how this turned out!  Finally I tied a bow with the Cajun Linen Thread from the Come to Gather Ribbon Combo pack.
