I remember as a kid, hearing adults talk about how fast times goes, and I never understood what they were talking about.  I felt it took forever to get to the extra special days like birthdays or Christmas or a special event.  Well, not anymore!  The time seems to fly by as we get older and this year has sure gone quickly.  As we finish off 2018 and look forward to a fresh new year, I wish you first and foremost good health and much happiness.

Stampin' Up! Merry Christmas thinlits Dies, Timeless Tidings stamp set, Stampin' Studio

I created this festive card for my club members and thought it would be a perfect way to end the year.  I ran a piece of Gray Granite card stock through the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I sure do love the texture of this embossing folder.  Next I added little banners cut from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper which is found in the Annual Catalog.  I cut the strips various lengths and simply “notched” them with the Banner Triple Punch before adding them to the textured cardstock.  I added a little glitz when I wrapped a piece of the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the layer before adding it to the Gray Granite card base.  I used the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies to cut out “Happy” from Basic Black cardstock.  Great News!  Both the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies are carrying over and are not retiring..Yeah!  For the sentiment I used the Timeless Tidings stamp set (which sadly is retiring January 2nd).  the sentiment says “and a Happy New Year” and I only needed the “New Year” part of the stamp so I got out my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and colored the marker directly on the “New Year” part of the stamp.  I finished the card off with some of the Metallic Pearls that helped to carry on the metallic theme of the card.
