Healing Hugs

The healing Hugs stamp set is my new “go to” set when I want to send a get well card.  The sentiments are perfect and you’ve just got to love the realistic imagery of the rose and leaves.

This is one of the new DistINKtive stamps.  That means it’s a photo-realistic image that has lots of depth to it.  Rather than inking the stamp up directly on the ink pad, it works best to ink up a sponge or Sponge Dauber with the ink and “pounce” the dauber over the stamp.  This goes for the rose as well as the leaves.  Once I had the rose stamped, I did a bit of fussy cutting around the rose and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Did you notice the subtle embellishments I added to the card?  I attached some of the Rose Metallic Thread behind the rose and a few of the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the Whisper White card layer.

Popsicle Treat Box VideoTutorial

I’ve got a fun treat box to share with you today.  How about a Popsicle Treat Box that holds a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup?  I made a basket of them for a our Beat the Heat Summer Stamp Camp ove the weekend and they were a big hit.

Blended Seasons Bundle for Christmas

The Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits have been flying off the shelves at the Stampin’ Up! home office.  Because these are available in August only (or while supplies last) I wonder if they’ll last all month or if they’ll sell out before the month is over.   Have you ordered yours yet?  This is the last card that Dave shared at the class he taught for me last week.  The stamp set is so versatile, with images and sentiments that work all year round.  I love that the Stitched Seasons Framelits have three sizes in the “frame” die cut.  It works perfect for layering which you know I’m a huge fan of.  I also am thrilled with the faux stitched edge detail on the framelits.  It “stitches” on the inside and the outside of the cut edge.

Once I stamped the image, I colored the leaves and berries with the brand new watercolor Pencils (Assortment 2) and then blended the colors using a Blender Pen.

You know how I enjoy some fancy fun folds, and this is one of the easiest ones to do.  It’s a “Z” fold, and all you have to do is cut your card base 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Next you score the card base at 2-2/4″ and 5-1/2″ and fold the card in half and then fold the front flap back.  From there I cut a few layers of cardstock and designer paper and you’ve got yourself an easy fun fold Christmas card.
