Sometimes I like elaborate and detailed cards but there’s something so serene and peaceful about a simple card.  The Enjoy Life stamp set is a great choice when looking for a simple card.  Most of the images are “silhouette” styled and the sentiments and fonts are wonderful.

A simple technique like Watercolor Wash can make a simple card simply stunning! A little ink and water will bring it all to life.  I did a watercolor wash background on Shimmery White cardstock by using Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green re-inkers and an Aqua Painter to flood the paper with a watercolor wash.  Once the paper dried, I used Memento Ink to stamp the sentiment and images.  Finally a few layers of cardstock in Granny Apple Green and Basic Black on a card base of Bermuda Bay mat the focal point beautifully.

Natures Poem Suite

Beautiful, natural images make the Nature’s Poem Suite a must have group of products.  There are six products in this suite including the Rooted in Nature stamp set which has so many good sized images that it takes two stamp cases to fit them all.  There’s also the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits dies which not only die cut most of the stamped images but there are some pieces that will actually emboss for some great added texture.  The Rooted in Nature stamp set and the Nature’s Roots Framelits can be ordered separately or in a bundle to save 10%.

The Natures Poem Designer Series Paper has striped prints as well as nature inspired prints.  I love the way the two completely different styles of prints look so good together on this card.  There is a cardstock pack in the suite that features Petal Pink, Soft Suede and Tranquil Tide.  I used the Petal Pink for the back ground which I embossed with the Layered Leaf Embossing Folder (not part of this suite but it coordinates so well, I just had to use it.  Because I love to add texture in more ways than one, I added a double bow using the Natures Twine.  This twine comes with 4 spools of twine (Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove).  The twine is 3-ply, so I unraveled some of it to pull out just one ply of Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron, for a less more delicate bow.

Serene Garden Bundle Sympathy Card

I am always amazed at the wonderful bundles we have and today’s card features one of the new ones.  This is the Serene Garden Bundle which features the Garden Scene Framelits and the Serene Garden stamp set. I’ve also used the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  I thought this combination made a pretty sympathy card which would work for a man or woman.

If you look closely on the Mint Macaron cardstock, it’s been embossed with one of the framelit pieces that is meant not to cut but to simply emboss.  Isn’t it pretty?  This framelit was used with the new Bog Shot Embossing Mats.

The stamped leaf images were stamped using the Stamparatus in order to give a perfect and consistent border to each corner.  

After placing the stamp where I wanted it, I stamped the first corner…

…then turned the cardstock a quarter turn, inked up the stamp and stamped it again…

…and so on until all four corners were stamped with straight, even borders.
