We’re on day three of my Keep it Simple Christmas card series, where I’m sharing some quick and simple Christmas cards.

On the third Day of Christmas…

Stampin' Up! Night in Bethlehem stamp set, Stampin' Studio

Today’s card features the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and the reason for the season.  This is one of those time where less is truly more.  A Night of Navy card base followed by a layer of Marina Mist cardstock and Whisper White.  All of the images, which build this scene are from the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and are stamped in Night of Navy.  The finishing touch is the sparkle from the Rhinestone Jewel in the star…and just like that day three card is done!

Let’s sing it to the roof top…”Joy to the World”.  I love the simplicity of this card with it’s musical notes and the Striped Ribbon looks like piano keys to me.  It makes me think of my niece Katie who is a music teacher.  The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper is what got me started here.  I layered that on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then wrapped a piece of the 7/8″ Striped Ribbon around  it.  Next I cut a banner with the Banner Triple Punch and stamped the sentiment from the Hearts Come Home stamp set and attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The card is accented with three Black Rhinestone Jewels, and now the  Second Day of Christmas is done!

Keep it simple Christmas card

Today I’m starting a new series of Christmas cards, because, well let’s face it, if we send out a bunch of Christmas cards, we need to start way ahead of time in making them and they’ve got to be simple.  So, I’ve got “Keep it simple Christmas cards.  I’ll be featuring 6 beautiful, yet very simple reproducible Christmas cards over the next 6 days.

On the first day of Christmas…

Stampin' Up! Hearts Come Home stamp set, Stampin' StudioSo let’s start off the series with a color palette that just oozes Christmas.  We’ve got Whisper White and Real Red, the classic colors of a candy cane.  This lovely sentiment comes from the Hearts Come Home stamp set.  I colored the stamp with Real Red and Basic Black markers and punched it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it on a 2″ circle of Real Red.  The tiny little heart is punch out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and attaching it with a Mini Glue Dot.  I’ve added texture with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder, which is truly a “must have” in my book.  The texture is scrumptious.  The card is finished off by wrapping it with the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon and putting a bow on it.  And, just like that the First Day of Christmas is done!
