Stampin' Up! Tasty Trucks stamp set, Sale-a-bration 2017, Suite Sentiments, Stampin' Studio

Only six days left of Sale-a-bration 2017, and I’ve still got some fun cards to share with you.  Today I’ve used the Tasty Trucks stamp set and created an overall background on the Peekaboo Peach cardstock.  I’ve even added some tiny cupcakes in the window of the truck.  I stamped the sentiment from Suite Sentiments stamp set shown on page 54 of the Occasions Catalog on an oval cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I kept the card monochromatic so that it wouldn’t look too busy with all of the trucks in the background.  I stamped in Tangerine Tango on Peekaboo Peach cardstock.  Next I added a couple banners; one from Tangerine Tango cardstock and the other from Tangerine Tango striped ribbon from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. I tucked a piece of a delicate White Doily behind the banner for a little more depth and texture.

Stampin’ Studio Tips

  • Tip:  Add simple texture and depth by layering a Delicate White Doily under some decorative banners.  Add more depth by popping the Stitched Shapes Oval piece up off the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • Sizes: Whisper White Thick cardstock base is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″.  Peekaboo Peach cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Tangerine Tango striped DSP is 1″ x 4″.  Tangerine Tango cardstock is 1″ x 4″.

Stampin' Up! Any Occasion stamp set, Carried Away DSP, Stampin' Studio

I’m getting such a kick out of the Any Occasions sale-a-bration stamp set.  You can build tiny little banners for…we… “any occasion”.  I am smitten by the tiny banners hanging along side the “hello” on the banner rope here.  Knowing I wanted to tie in the Carried Away Designer Series Paper and Sending Love Embellishment (the wooden heart) I chose to go with Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Watermelon Wonder.

How about a little ying and yang?  We’ve got earthy elements like the Linen Thread and the wooden Sending Love Embellishments and the feminine elements like the Very Vanilla Lace Trim, the pearls and the Watermelon stamped heart. I stamped some of the tiny banners full strength and some by stamping off once.  This gives us shades of the same color for a little more interest.

Stampin’ Studio Tips

  • Coordination: Repeating elements is a great way to tie the elements of a card together.  Notice here we have the tiny stamped heart, the wooden heart embellishment, and the cardstock in the shape of a heart.  this was die cut with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.
  • Tip:  Get your linen thread bows and the Sending Love Embellishments to stay on with Mini Glue Dots
  • Sizes: Very Vanilla card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.  Crumb Cake cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Carried Away DSP is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then cut on the diagonal.

Stampin' Up! Make a Medallion stamp set, sale-a-bration 2017, Floral Boutique DSP, Stampin' Studio

Cards that almost always get the most oohs and ahhs are cards that have Night of Navy and Whisper White.  This is another card from my 10-10-10 class I held earlier in the week.  All of the cards featured a Sale-a-bration item and were super simple to make- they each took 10 minutes or less.  I knew I wanted to use the Make a Medallion stamp set (free sale-a-bration choice) and after looking at the design for a bit I decided that the medallion closely resembled on of the prints in the Night of Navy and Whisper White Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.

Let’s take a closer look

Stampin' Up! Make a Medallion stamp set, sale-a-bration 2017, Floral Boutique DSP, Stampin' Studio

Ha, ha, ha!  Look closely at each little part of the medallion… do you see a monkey face?  I didn’t notice it until just now!  The sweet little sentiment comes from the So in Love stamp set.  I stamped it on a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White cardstock, then snipped each end and layered it on a 5/8″ strip of night of navy cardstock and snipped those ends to match.  The banner is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Stampin’ Studio Tips

  • Coordination: They weren’t designed to go together but the Make a Medallion stamp set and the pattern in the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper coordinate so perfectly.
  • Tip:  Sometimes trying to get multi-imaged stamps to line up is a bit of a struggle, so I  eliminated the struggle by using just one image to make my medallion.
  • Sizes: Night of Navy card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.  Floral Boutique DSP is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Night of Navy is 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″.  Whisper White is 3″ x 4-1/4″.  Scraps were used for the banners
