Wow! can you believe it’s February already?  I’ve got some exciting news this month!  I was asked to be a guest designer at Craft Project Central.    What is Craft Project Central you ask?  Well, it’s a place where you can get great projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! products.  From scrapbooking, home decor, jewelry, and more.  Whether you’re a new or seasoned stamper, or an avid crafter looking for fun ideas, you can find lots of fun crafting ideas there.  You can find out more about subscribing to Craft Project Central here.

In this tutorial, you will be creating a stunning home decor piece that will fit a 5″ x 7″ frame.  Using the products from the Sending Love Suite from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalog, you will learn how to make each of the sampler squares and then to assemble into the frame.

Having Fun with Hey Chick stamp set

The Hey Chick stamp set is so much fun.  Everyone of the images are a hoot.  I received this card in a swap I did with members of my Stampin’ Express Team.  This is one of the FREE items you can choose during Sale-a-bration when you order $50.  Hey Chick has been so popular they can’t make them fast enough and they’re on a few day back order delay, but not to worry they’re getting caught up.

Three things I love about this card

I love the main image (focal point) stamped on the Oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  These Framelits are used all the time in my stampin’ Studio.

I love the Crumb Cake cardstock that has all the different chicks stamped all over it, like it’s designer paper.

You know me, I love texture, so the addition of the textured circles in the background made from the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder is really a hit in my book.

The flowers from the Avant Garden stamp set were stamped  in Night of Navy ink.  The multiple shades of blue were achieved by inking the stamp up, stamping it on the cardstock and then stamping again before inking the stamp up again.  The leaves which were stamped in Emerald Envy were done the same way.  The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped on Whisper White in Night of Navy and then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  For the Emerald Envy layer behind the sentiment, the same punch was used then the piece was cut in half horizontally and attached to the back of the sentiment piece.  A piece of Emerald Envy 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon finishes off the card.
