Dragonfly Dreams with Watercolor Pencils

One final card from my Watercolor Pencils class from earlier this week.  We stamped the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set in Stazon on Shimmery White cardstock and colored on some Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pacific Point with the Watercolor Pencils.  Next we used the Blender Pens in a circular motion to blend the colors into one another.  We added some texture to the card front flap with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.

Beautiful You stamp set is beautiful with watercolor Pencils

One stamp set from the Occasions catalog that has been a big seller is the Beautiful You stamp set.  I used  it here with the Watercolor Pencils.  I colored the dress and hat with the Daffodil Delight pencil and then used the Blender Pen to provide shading in the folds of the dress.  The water and the sky were colored by picking up the color directly from the pencil with the Blender Pen then colored onto the Watercolor Paper.

You’ve Got This stamp set comes alive with Watercolor Pencils

I wanted to share another card we made at my Watercolor Pencil class this week.  I love how the flower from the You’ve Got This stamp set really comes alive with the Watercolor Pencils.  The shading with a Blender Pen on each and every flower petal is what makes it look so real.

The card has a bit of a unique fold to it.  I call it a Missing Middle Fun Fold because, well frankly, the middle of the card is missing.

The Melon Mambo base of the card is cut 5 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and is scored at 4 1/4″.  I then cut another strip of Melon Mambo 1″ x 5 1/2″.  I attached a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card.  Next, with  the card closed, I laid the 1″ strip on the right side of the card (I did not put adhesive on this) so that it will complete the card front once the matted layers go on top.  After I did the stamping and watercoloring on the 3″ x 4″ piece of Watercolor Paper, I attached it to the           3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″Basic Black piece of card stock.  On the backside of the Basic Black I put a dimensional in each corner, then carefully centered it over the card front and flap on the right.  This connects the right side of the card to the left side and also the matted flower layers.  Then you can open the card and stamp and sentiment you’d like on the Whisper White piece behind the matted layers it they doesn’t show when the card is closed.
