Lots a dots!

I know, I know, that’s an excessive amount of Candy Dots but when I was reorganizing my studio with the redo I found tons of Candy Dots, so I thought I’d base a card around them.

All Boxed Up

I knew I wanted to make a card with a lively blue and green so I decided to go with Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz (and Whisper White of course).  It’s hard to tell from the photo but the Whisper White layer is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the 1 3/4″ circle that the sentiment from All Boxed Up is stamped on sits lower inside the framed circle.  Does that even make sense?  Well anyway, then I just scattered Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky and Old Olive Candy Dots all over and there you have it.

Clean & Simple Washi Tape

Using Washi Tape on a project is a super simple way to add a pop of color in no time at all.

Washi Tape

How to keep it simple

  • Whisper White card stock allows for a clean and uncluttered look
  • Washi Tape strips add a geometric tone when applied vertically and horizontally.  I’ve used colors from three different packages of washi tape to get the color palate I was going for.
  • The Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry and Whisper White flowers were punched out with the Petite Petals Punch and adorned with a White Candy Dot and a couple of the It’s My Party Enamel Dots.
  • The uncluttered fonts in the sentiment, which comes from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, is perfect for this clean and simple card.

Faux Stitching

This whimsical Birthday card was created with a little bit of punch art and some faux stitching.

Honeycomb HelloI used the 1″ Circle Punch to cut our 5 circles from the Wisteria Wonder paper found in the Subtles Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.  I attached these to the back side of a 1 1/4″ circle of Wisteria Wonder card stock to make the flower.  I then added a 1″ circle of Whisper White which I stamped the sentiment from Honeycomb Hello and drew on some stitch makers with the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  The stem of the flower is an image from the Hello Life stamp set.  The image has a curly heart along with the squiggly line, but I thought the line really looked like a flower stem, so I covered up the heart with one of the leafs.  I added a bit more “stitches” on the leaves and around the border of the card and finished it off with the bee from the Honeycomb Hello.
