Founder’S Circle: Day 3

Friday, which was day 3 of our Founder’s Circle trip started out with a trip to the manufacturing plant in Kanab Utah.  We were greeted by all of 80 of the employees when we arrived.

I really enjoyed seeing how the different products were made.  Here’s how our red rubber stamp sets start out… big long heavy rolls of rubber are cut into chunks about 12″ long.

Peggy tried her hand at the cutting process, it was so much harder to do that the worker made it look.

Nest the rubber pieces get laid on a die and get sent into an over.  When they pop out of the oven, they are a big sheet of stamps.  Next they get die cut.

Peggy also experienced de cutting the stamps.  This sheet of rubber has four stamp sets on it.

Finally the stamp sets are put into the cases with the labels and stickers and are ready to be sent to the distribution center to be packed in your orders.

This is a bin that was filled with all of the trimmings of the red rubber.  Hmmm….I wonder what they do with all that rubber?

The rubber is cut up into small chunks and is used in a local park under the playground equipment instead of bark.  We stopped at the “rubber park” and got to play around a bit!

On the bus ride back we played Bingo, and I won a prize.

After a relaxing afternoon back at the hotel we loaded up the buses again and headed to Tuacahn which is an amazing outdoor theatre.  We saw a live Disney production there at night which was unbelievable.  The back drop was the red rock cliffs which also served as part of the stage.  At one point they had water rushing down the rocks and it flooded the stage (all planned) so that they could perform part of the river scene from Pocahontas and the underwater adventures from the Little Mermaid. Words can’t even begin to describe how amazing this performance was.

Time to share a little stamping.

I meant to share this yesterday but I forgot.  This was my Founder’s Circle swap card.

Founder’s Circle: Day 2

We started day 2 with a wonderful trip to Zion National Park.

The views were stunning with the red sandstone towering thousands of feet above us.

We were able to ride a tram though parts of the park and we hiked other parts.

When we returned from the park many of us worked on snack gift bags that we’ll be delivering to Stampin’ up! employees at the manufacturing plant in Kanab Utah where we’ll be going on Friday.

Last night when we got to our rooms there was a goodie bag filled with some new product that will be featured in the Occasions catalog that comes out in January.   Today we got to use the new stamp set and other products to stamp a few make & take projects.  They also had some beautiful cards on display featuring the new stamp set.

In the evening we had a pajama party and business share. Many of us preordered matching pj’s.

After the business share we all lined up for the Founder’s Circle card swap!
There were 110 demonstrators that participated in the swap…

…and let me tell you the swaps are stunning…seeeee.

We’re Here: Founders Circle Day 1

I arrived in St. George Utah for the Founder’s Circle Retreat on Wednesday around 1:00 pm.  The entire Marriott Courtyard Hotel was closed down and reserved for us, so everything was decorated with our theme “Last Splash”

After a wonderful lunch they provided for us we went to the gathering room to hang out, help others finish swaps and  play a game to earn a prize.

There were beautiful displays of hand stamped projects…

…and a big candy buffet as well has lots of fruit

For dinner we had a poolside bar-B-Q they broke us up into groups of 8 at a table so that we had a chance to meet others.

My group was called Summer Sandals.

Our place settings were one of a kind small canvas paintings on an easel with our names on them.

Dinner was grilled short ribs, chicken and beef tips as well as some summer salads and the best salted caramel and chocolate cake I’ve ever had.

We ended the evening hanging out with old and new friends.
Tomorrow we have a sight seeing and light hiking trip to Zion National Park as well as our pajama party, business share and card swap.

Here’s a card for you to enjoy.

Here’s another card we made at my Among the Branches class earlier this week. I trimmed some of the Burlap Trim to make it narrower and added one of the Into the Woods Elements.
