Not just for Mom!

The images featured in this card come from the “Mothers Love” stamp set in the Occasions catalog.  I think it’s an easy set to over look if you don’t plan on stamping Mothers Day cards.  Yes, it’s got sentiments for mom but take a closer look.  It has some stunning flowers that use the 2 step stamping technique.  For this card the stems and main flowers are stamped in Smokey Slate an then the second step, filling in the flowers happens with Smoky Slate stamped off.  It makes for a very subtle look perfect for any occasion.
The Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, which is retiring, was used for the background and don’t forget the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding is going too.

Canvas Creations

This beautiful framed project was made with a product that is retiring called Canvas Creations.

I started out with a simple frame from the Dollar Store and layered up Sahara Sand and Basic Black card stock for the matting.  The flowers from Painted Petals are stamped directly on a piece of Canvas Creations with Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry ink.  The magic happens when the Aqua Painter is brought out and colored on top of the flower petals.  What happens here is the ink, which is sitting on top of the canvas, soaks down into all the little pores of the canvas giving the appearance that is has been painted on the canvas.

The tiny butterfly comes from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and stamped on Whisper White card stock.  Running the Aqua Painter over this stamped image allows the stamped ink to bleed into the white space giving the butterfly a two toned look.  The butterfly was then punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and attached to the canvas with a glue dot.

As I said, Canvas Creations are one of the products that is on the retiring list which means it’s available only while supplies last.  The regular price is $3.95 and it’s clearance priced at 50% off making it just $1.98 for a 12″ x12″ piece.
