By the Tide

This stunning card is one I received as a swap back in January.  I thought I’d better share it now before it’s too late…some of the items are retiring!

The Hardwood stamp set is used on three layers of the card for a rustic look.  The other images all come from the retiring stamp set called “By the Tide”.  The coral is heat embossed in Blushing Bride Embossing Powder (yet another product that is retiring).  The fish is beautifully shaded with the use of Blender Pens.

Four Seasons

Last night was my Sheltering Tree Canvas Creations Class where everyone made this awesome Four Seasons Framed Art.

We started out with four 4″ x 6″ pieces of Canvas Creations (retiring from the Big Catalog and on sale at half price).  The images are all from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and are stamped directly on the canvas then colored over with an Aqua Painter to get the ink to saturate into the canvas and bring the canvas to life.  Here’s an up close photo of each panel and the inks I used for each:

Winter:  Tree-Early Espresso, Snow on ground & Snow Flakes-Pool Party

Spring:  Tree & Swing-Early Espresso, Grass-Old Olive, Leaves & Blossoms-Blushing Bride and Rose Red.

Summer:  Tree- Early Espresso, Grass& Leaves-Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow, Bike-Basic Grey & Real Red

Fall:  Tree & Rake-Early Espresso, Grass-Old Olive, Hello Honey & Cajun Craze, Leaves & Hello Honey & Cajun Craze.

This project is so much easier that it looks and it is really quite impressive when it’s completed.  I encourage you to get some of the Canvas Creations before it’s sold out and try your hand at creating this piece of art.

Maritime Card for Him

My husband has been spending all his free time getting our sailboat ready to sail as soon as we return from the Stampin’ Up! trip to Hawaii, which by the way is in less than two weeks away.  As a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary he will spend as much of his free time on the water as he can.

I thought this card was a great reminder of his love of the water.  It features the Adventure Awaits stamp set as well as number of items that are on the retiring list.  All of the Designer Series Paper in this card comes from the same package of Maritime DSP.  Did you notice the Night of Navy card stock behind the circles?  That was die cut with the retiring Windows Framelits.  The Coastal Cabana Bakers Twine, yet another retiring product, is tied into a sailors knot as the embellishment.
