Happy Hexagon Birthday

Todays fun card is all about the Hexagon Punch.  First I used it to punch hexagons windows in Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock layers.  I also used it to punch hexagons from the Birthday Bash designer Series Paper which I attached around the window.  Finally I used it to punch through the card base itself so that the greeting is actually stamped inside the card but you can see it through the front of the card when the card is closed.  Daffodil Delight ribbon and stars finish off the festive card.

Mr. Mustache has been CASED

I get asked a lot, where do you come up with your ideas for card making.  Sometimes it comes easily when I look at a product, other times it doesn’t.  That’s when I CASE.

Over the last two days, I’ve shared two cards using the same layout and have shared with you how to CASE (Copy And Share Everything).  This card features the exactly same layout as the past two days.  I’ve just changed the elements and colors for the card.  Here I’ve used Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla.  Instead of using punches this time I went to the Mustache Framelit and added the texture with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  The sentiment for this card comes from “a Dozen Thoughts.”

So, now with three examples (over the past three days) you’ve seen how to take a card layout and CASE it by changing up color, embellishments, punches and stamp sets to get a unique card every time.  Happy CASE-ing!

CASE It!

Maybe you’ve heard the term “Case-ing” before, maybe you haven’t…
To CASE means to Copy And Share Everything.  Sometimes that may mean recreating it exactly as you saw it.  Other times it may mean you  kept the lay put but changes the colors, or the sentiments, or the embellishments.
Well that’s what I did with this card.

I took the card I created and posted to my blog yesterday, and I CASED it.  I changes the colors to Marine Mist, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.  Instead of using the Butterfly Punches, this time I used a variety of our Circle Punches ranging in size from 1/2″ to 1 3/4″.  I replaced the Spring Garden Embossing Folder with the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder.  The sentiment comes from the “Little Buddy Birthday” stamp set.

Tomorrow I’ll share one more way I CASED this same layout.
