Hippest Hippos

Oh my goodness, can you believe July is almost over?!?  That means that Sale-a-bration is nearly half over as it goes through July & August and then it’s done!  A super popular FREE Sale-a-bration product is the Hippest Hippos stamp set and the coordinating Hippo Dies!

I participated in a swap (card trade) with a bunch of other demonstrators where we were to use the new Sale-a-bration products.  Wow, did I get some fun cards, and today I’m featuring the cards that focus on the Hippest Hippos stamp set and the Hippos Dies.  I think you’re going to love these!

This card base is Flirty Flamingo and it uses the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper, which is also a Sale-a-bration item.  Other products used are the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Here’s a fun fold card that features Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape and the Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper (a host exclusive paper pack from the annual catalog).  That sweet umbrella is from the Hippo Dies.

Sweet Sorbet was used for the card base for this last card.  The Picture This Die was a brilliant idea to allow the hippos to poke themselves out of.  How sweet is that!

The Hippest Hippos stamp set as well as the Hippos dies are available through August 31st or while supplies last (some Sale-a-bration products have already sold out!).  Get your’s FREE with a $50 order.

Thank you for taking time to visit my blog, for shopping with me and for your loyalty to Stampin’ Studio! I know there are a lot of demonstrators out there to choose from… THANK YOU for choosing me!

Charming Sentiments Bundle

Wondering what to purchase next?  I think you should put the Charming Sentiments Bundle on the top of your list!  The stamp set features 17 photopolymer stamps with sentiments for nearly every occasion you can think of.  Then there is the coordinating 30 piece Sentiment Silhouettes Dies that cut out all of the sentiments and other fun die-cuts.  I stamped the word “Congratulations” with VersaMark ink on the Sweet Sorbet cardstock and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder, then once it cooled, I die-cut the word with the coordinating die.

Color Combo

I started with a Basic White card base.  Next I ran a piece of Flirty Flamingo through the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder and used Sweet Sorbet ink on a Blending Brush, which I rubbed all over the embossed image before attaching the cardstock to the card base.  The die-cut sentiment is attached to a tag that was die-cut from the Designer Tags Dies.  One die cuts the Basic White detailed tag and another cuts the Sweet Sorbet tag behind the detailed one.  The detailed butterfly also comes from the Designer Tags Dies and is attached with a thin piece of Stampin’ Dimensionals under the body of the butterfly.  To finish the card, I attached the sentiment to the tag with Dimensionals and colored 3 of the Brushed Brass Butterflies with the Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blends before attaching them to the card.

Sending Cheer with Bottled Happiness

I really enjoyed making this card which uses the Bottled Happiness stamp set and coordinating Vintage Bottle Punch along with the Deckled Rectangles Dies for the matted layers.

Color Combo

I stamped the short wide bottle in Gray Granite ink and then placed a Post-it Note over the bottle with the edge at the top of the bottle so that I could stamp the greenery in Old Olive ink to make it look like the greenery stems were inside the bottle.  I got the various shades of green by simply inking the stamp once with Old Olive and stamping it repeatedly without re-inking the stamp.

Next I stamped the tall thin bottle in Old Olive and punched it out with the Vintage Bottle Punch and tied a piece of Linen Thread around the neck of the bottle.  The label was stamped in Gray Granite that was stamped off once before stamping it on a small scrap of Very Vanilla and fussy cut, then attached to the bottle.  To give the appearance of a curved bottle, I used a Bone Folder to curve the paper bottle vertically, then attached it to the mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To “ground” the stamped images, I used a Water Painter and picked up a small amount of the Gray Granite ink and painted a shadow where the bottles rest.

Old Olive Stampin’ Blends were used to color the Pearls Basic Jewels before they were attached to the stamped layer, then the card was assembled with 3 different sizes of the Deckled Rectangles Dies and attached to a card base of Thick Very Vanilla.
