Let’s swap some more

This fun card was created by Lori H. for our Fall Fest Retreat swap.  It features a much overlooked stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called “Four Feathers” which also has coordinating Framelits.  When I first received the Holiday catalog, I thought that I would be able to live without this set, that is until I started seeing some amazing samples with it.  I love the texture each of the stamped images have along with the glitzy gold glimmer feather.

Brenda W. got out an old favorite stamp set called “Lovely as a Tree” and stamped the trees in Black ink.  She used the masking technique by punching a circle out of scrap paper and temporarily attaching it to the Whisper White card stock.  Next she sponged some blue and purple shades for the ground and sky and when she removed the temporary circle it revealed the moon in the sky.  Now that is lovely!

Sharing Swaps

I snicker to myself every time I see this “Making Spirits Bright” stamp set.  the phrases in it are funny.  This adorable card was made by Erin G. as her swap card at Fall Fest.  Look at the Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey combination.  I’m guessing Erin is a big fan of this years In Colors …me too.  I especially like these two colors together.

This sweet little card was made by Jo H.  She’s a first time grandma to little Harper and I’m guessing that’s where the inspiration for this card comes from.  Love the Polka dot embossing on the card, it is perfect.

Understated Gentle Peace

This stunningly simple Christmas card was made with the Gentle Peace stamp set which is a newer photopolymer set which is not featured in any of the catalogs.  It was designed to be used either as a simple line art image as shown here or it’s stunning when it’s embossed with black embossing powder and colored in with Blendabilities to resemble stained glass. While I love the detail that can be achieved with the stained glass look, it’s just not very practical for me to make 80 that are so detailed.  I stamped this in Smoky Slate and colored just the outside edge with Blendabilites.
If you’d like to add this stamp set to your collection the cost is only $15.95 and the item number is 139523
