A Good Man

My Dad turns 85 tomorrow, so I created this card featuring the stamp set called A Good Man.  I LOVE the image from the stamp set of the dad holding his little girl.  I chose the woodgrain print from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper because my Dad can make anything out of wood.  At his age he is still cutting down trees, then he runs them through the saw mill he built and dries the wood in a kiln he built and can build anything, seriously anything!  The Denim Ribbon accents the card because my Dad always wears blue jeans.

Stampin' Up! A Good Man stamp set, Water coloring, Masculine Card, Stampin' Studio

Measurements

  • Misty Moonlight: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” score at 4-1/4” for card base
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (Wood print): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Watercolor Paper: 1-3/4 x 1-3/4” x 3-3/4”
  • Denim Ribbon: 1-1/2” and 2 pieces that measure 4”

Instructions:

  • Cut rectangle from the left side of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper using the Stitched Rectangle Die that measures 1-1/2” x 3-3/8”
  • Stamp sentiment from Best Year on woodgrain print in Stazon Ink
  • Wrap 1-1/2” piece of Denim Ribbon around left side of rectangle cut out and secure the ends to the backside with Stampin’ Seal. Wrap a 4” piece around the right side and secure on the back. Take remaining ribbon and tuck it under the right-side ribbon and tie it in a knot.
  • Stamp image from A Good Man with Stazon ink on Watercolor Paper
  • Use Water Painters to pick up ink from ink pads and watercolor the image as follows: Misty Moonlight – man’s pants and girl’s pants, Just Jade – man’s shirt, Flirty Flamingo – girl’s shirt, Early Espresso – ground, man’s hair, shoes, skin and girl’s hair and skin
  • Attach the Watercolor paper to the back of the In Good Taste DSP so image shows through the rectangle opening
  • Fold Misty Moonlight cardstock at score line for card base.
  • Adhere the In Good Taste DSP to the card front and add 4 of the silver Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to the corners of the rectangle cut out.

I featured some water coloring which seemed perfect for this card.  I will be showcasing water coloring background scenery on my Face Book Live tonight, so please join me at 6:00PM Central Time right HERE

Hello Ladybug

I created this sweet little card for a demonstrator event a couple weeks ago.  The Hello Ladybug Bundle featuring the stamp set and the coordinating Ladybug Builder Punch was a lot of fun to create with.

Color Combo

I love the Black, Red and White color combination and the fact that we have so many accessories and patterned paper in this colors makes it super easy to design.  The gingham paper is one of the prints found in the Host Exclusive Pattern Party Paper.

I would LOVE for you to join me for my weekly Facebook Live on Wednesday at 6:00 Central Time. I’ve got a fun project featuring water-coloring to share with you and I’m doing a give away for those joining me live.  You can find me HERE
