Flowing Flowers cards: Stampin’ Sisters Retreat

Project 4 from our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat was this set of 6 cards featuring the Flowing Flowers stamp set.  I think this is one of those stamp sets in the Mini catalog that are easy to overlook.  But after taking  longer look at it, you’ll notice that the stamps have hi and low lights that create some real depth and texture to the images.

Color Combo

Each card started with  Thick Basic White card base and was layered up with the black & white diamond pattern from the Pattern Party DSP (a host exclusive paper). Gorgeous Grape and Basic Black accents were added as well as a bit of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  Everyone received a package of the Pastel Pearls to embellish their cards.

Flowering Tulips Framed Art: Stampin’ Sisters Retreat

Every year, for the past 16 years at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat, we like to have a variety of projects for everyone to make and that includes some home décor pieces.  This year a 5″ x 5″ framed art piece that features the Flowering Tulips Bundle.

The beautiful shading on the background and tulips, ranging from soft yellow to deep coral was created using the Blending Brushes everyone received in their “tool Box”.  The background piece was then embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder for some textural interest.  The Gold Hexagon shape was die-cut using the Beautiful Shapes dies with Gold Foil Sheets.   We created the 3-dimensional flowers using the Tulips Dies, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.   I love the addition of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the piece before it was put in the frame we purchased at Hobby Lobby.  As our gift to the crafters for this project, everyone received the frame and the Brushed Brass Butterflies.

The card bases are the striped cards from the Heart & Home Memories & More Cards which seamed perfect for the nautical theme of these masculine cards.  Everyone received a package of the Polished Dots to embellish the cards.
