Where does your inspiration come from?

These are the beautiful flowers I got from my sister, Peggy when I was in the hospital last week.  We both laughed over the face that the flowers and vase were Berry Burst and there are little sprigs of Lemon Lime Twist.  Even the florists know about our In Colors!  I love the beautiful bouquet, it’s so happy and cheerful and it got me thinking of great places we can find inspiration for our paper crafting projects.

Berry Burst Bouquet

I’m not quite feeling up to stamping yet, but I knew I has some swap cards that featured Berry Burst, so I looked through my box and came across this one that…guess who made it?  None other than my sister Peggy!  The stamp set is called Sharing Sweet Thoughts, which is this years Ronald McDonald set in which $3 from the purchase of each set goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  So not only is the main color on the card Berry Burst but she also colored in some parts of the butterflies with Lemon Lime Twist.

Another fabulous thing about this stamp set is that it coordinates with the Everyday Jars Framelits and you know how we all love things that coordinate!

Time for an update & Watch it Wednesday

Many of you know, that I’ve been out of commission since last Friday.  I had a few blog posts ready to go not knowing how long I’d be in the hospital.  I had Spinal Fusion on L4-L5 on August 4th.  This is me about 5 hours after surgery.  They waste no time in getting patients up and walking.

I am really rocking a new fashion statement wouldn’t you say? Well, the good news is I’m doing well and was released from the hospital Monday afternoon.  I have three months before I get to throw away a torso brace that prevents me from bending twisting or lifting anything more than 2 pounds.  So in the mean time I’ll be trying to get in my Stampin’ Studio to create and share, but some of my shares likely won’t be my own creations.  This will give me the opportunity to share with you some cards I received as swaps from team members and other talented demonstrators.

I want to thank you for all of the warm adn sweet cards and packages and flowers I received.  You are all the best.

One of my favorite accessories to use with card making is our Designer Series Paper.  In the annual catalog we’ve got seven different stunning offerings of 12″ x 12″ double sided printed paper that coordinates with our four color palettes and In Colors.  I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to tell how much I like the prints by viewing them in the catalog.  so, since it’s Watch it Wednesday, I thought I’d share with you an up close look at each of the prints in the seven packages.

In addition to the Designer Series Papers (12″ x 12″) we also have Designer Series Paper Stacks (6″ x 6″) with three stunning offerings, Specialty Designer Series Papers (12″ x 12″) with four offerings of paper that has either extra shimmer, texture or surprises to them, and we also have the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (12″ x 12″)

Poinsettias with Carols of Christmas Bundle

Stampin' Up! Carols of Christmas stamp set, Card Front Builder Thinlits, Stampin' Studio

Ok, one last card for now that features the brand new Carols of Christmas stamp set and the amazing Card Front Builder Thinlits.  For the focal point, I used a piece of Real Red card stock and placed the poinsettia  thinlits around the edges and cut them out.  I layered this on a piece of Whisper White and attached some red and gold Enamel Shapes to the inside of the flowers.  Next, I stamped the word Peace in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and cut the banner out by hand by following the curve of the sentiment.  I attached the banner to a medallion of Gold Foil Paper which I punched out with the new Starburst Punch.
