Carols of Christmas Bundle: Watch it Wednesday

Stampin' Up! Carols of Christmas stamp set, Card Front Builder Thinlits, Stampin' Studio

I’ve got another fun card I created using the Carols of Christmas Bundle which includes the Carols of Christmas stamp set and Card Front Builder Thinlits.  I started out with a few layers of card stock and the Layering Circles Framelits to create a window from the front of the card to the inside.  Next I used the Card Front Builder Thinlits to cut out the set of trees and the deer image which I stamped with the Carols of Christmas stamp set.  The trees and the deer are attached to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment stamp says Peace on Earth, so in order to get just the word “Peace” on the front of the card I colored directly on the stamp with a Soft Suede Marker and stamped it on the card stock.

The inside of the card is just a s stunning as the front of the card,  After cleaning the sentiment stamp real well, I colored Soft Suede on the “on Earth” part of the stamp.  I think this would also make a great masculine card by swapping the sentiment to Happy Birthday and changing up the color palette.  What do you think?

Sneak Peek: Carols of Christmas Bundle

Stampin' Up! Carols of Christmas Bundle, Stampin' Studio

It’s August 1st and that means the Holiday catalog is only one month away!  Stampin’ Up! has a “Sneak Peek” offering available to everyone starting today.  It’s the Carols of Christmas Bundle which features the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies.  As with most early offerings, we demonstrators were able to order them on July 1st, so I’ve played with the bundle quite a bit and I have to say the Carols of Christmas stamp set is fabulous (I was surprised as the picture of the images doesn’t do much for me) and the Card Front Builder Thinlits are a definite must have.  Not only do these thinlits dies cut out the deer, ornaments, holly leaves, flowers and leaves but they also cut out the most stunning borders.  You know how impressive heat embossing was the first time you saw it?  Well, that’s kind of the feeling you get with these dies!

I love how the font has a three-dimensional look to it.  I stamped the sentiment and the ornaments on the Whisper White card stock with Dapper Denim ink.  Then, on a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped them in VersaMark and poured Silver Embossing Powder on them for some shiny ornaments and I stamped some others in Marina Mist.  The silver and Marina Mist ornaments were cut out with the dies and popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The ribbon, which is easy to overlook in the annual catalog, is the Island Indigo Ombre Ribbon and it is stunning in person.  I wrapped it around the Whisper White card stock and layered this on Dapper Denim and Silver Foil Paper and then again on the Dapper Denim card base.

Wood Textures for Him

Stampin' Up! Wood Textures Suite, Wood Words stamp set, Wood Crate Framelits, Wood Texture DSP, Stampin' Studio

You can’t even begin to imagine how many times I get asked for masculine card ideas.  Well, take a look at the Wood Textures Suite shown on pages 158 & 159 of the Annual Catalog.  This suite features the Wood Words stamp set, Wood Crate Framelits, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and the Copper Trim and Burlap Ribbon.  With neutral colors and lots of visual and tactile texture it’s a real winner for the guys in your life.  These are projects my niece and team member, Katie Campbell shared with our group at our last Stampin’ Sisters team meeting.

Let’s Take a Closer Look

Check out the fabulous visual texture in this card.  The Wood Textures DSP was folded down 1/2″ on the top to showcase both sides of this one print from the package of 24 different prints.  The sentiment and stars were stamped using the Wood Words stamp set and the starts were die cut with the Wood Crate Framelits.

Once again the images and sentiment come from the Wood Words stamp set and the images are die cut with the Wood Crate Framelits.  Note: more fabulous Wood Textures Designer Paper here!

Katie created another super simple card using scraps of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and a bit of stamping from the Wood Words stamp set.  The card is embellished with some of the 1/8″ Copper Trim which is a must have in my opinion.  We’ve also got one of the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes lined with the Wood Textures DSP and embellished with some images and sentiment from the Wood Words stamp set.

So, the next time you’re trying to pull something together to make a masculine card, get out the products from the Wood Textures Suite and you’ll have it made in no time.
