Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, Stampin' Studio

So, what makes a kids birthday card?  Well, certainly it could be images that a kid can relate to like dolls, or toys or sports.  For me it’s also the use of color, like the primary colors used on this card (along with the balloons of course).

Notice the texture on the Pacific Point background that was created with the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder?  Also, check out the Crushed Curry patterned paper from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper.  The sentiments and balloons all come from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, and I love that the balloons can be punched out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch.    The Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set is extremely versatile, even though at first glance it seems to be very feminine with all of the flowery images.

Lemon Lime Twist Daisy

Stampin' Up! Daisy Punch, Fresh Florals DSP Stack, Wood Words stamp set, Stampin' Studio

Due to it’s massive popularity the Daisy Punch has sold out twice to the point that Stampin’ Up! had so many back orders to fill, they had to turn the order number off!  Good News!  The Daisy Punch is back in stock, so that means you can also order the Daisy Delight Bundle which includes the Daisy Delight stamp set and get the bundle at a 5% savings!  This card is really all about the daisy and of course the new Lemon Lime Twist.  We start out with a card base of Lemon Lime Twist and small but powerful pops of Basic Black.  Next we add a couple of patterns of Lemon Lime Twist from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and layer these on more Basic Black and some Whisper White.  Texture is added with the faux stitching from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the center of the flower which is one of the Clear Faceted Gems.  Finally, the sentiment is from the Wood Words stamp set.

Happy Birthday with Seasonal Layers Thinlits

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Stampin' Studio

At our last team get together, team member Wendy Tikk shared this gorgeous card she made using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and the Happy Birthday Thinlit.  I love the use of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack for the background.  It makes it quite masculine.  I am always a fan of the use of anything metallic, and I especially like the way she die cut the solid leaves in the Gold Foil Paper and then laid the intricate die cut leaf in basic black over the top.  And finally, the use of the Happy Birthday Thinlit makes this an instant winner!  This thinlit die has been super popular because of the beautiful font and ease in using it.
