Suite Escape: Coffee Break Suite

A few months ago I started holding a monthly “Suite Escape”  at my Stampin’ Studio for local stampers.  What is a Suite Escape? It’s a monthly class where each month I feature one of the product suites found in the catalogs. A product suite is a group of products that are designed to go together. This event is like a mini retreat at my Stampin’ Studio. The stampers move from station to station at their own pace as they create four wonderful projects using products from the featured suite.  I also package up a little home made “sweet” treat to snack on as the stampers escape from the reality of everyday life. This month featured the Coffee Break Suite shown on pages 30 & 31 of the Annual Catalog.

This is one of the cards we made.  The sentiment comes from the Coffee Cafe’ stamp set and the polka doted paper and the coffee pot and cups are from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  Just a little bit of fussy cutting around the pot and cups which are attached to a couple layers of circles from the Layering Circles Framelits with Stampin’ Dimensionals and you’ve got a great focal point for a fun card to send a friend.  I love the little bit of flair the the heart and dot Enamel Shapes add to the card.

Over the next few days I’ll be sharing the other cards we made at the Coffee Break Suite Escape.

So Sweet scrapbook page

Stampin' Up! wedding scrapbook page, Stampin' Studio

I was looking through old pictures the other day and came across these treasures of my kids from about 21 years ago.  Michael was the ring bearer and Nicole was the flower girl in the wedding of close family friend.  My how those years flew by.  I decided rather than have these precious pictures tucked away in a box, I needed to scrapbook them.  I used the backside of the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper for the 12″ x 12″ page base.  Next I matted each of the photos on a piece of Berry Burst card stock and then layered that on a piece of Powder Pink card stock that was run through the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. (You know me, I love to add texture).  The banner with “sweet” on it was created with the Cupcake Cutout Framelits and then I did a watercolor wash with Berry Burst ink and the Aqua Painter.  I did the same thing on the lacy bands going across the paper.  They were punched out with the Decorative Ribbon Border and color washed.  The branches with flowers used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and are adorned with Basic Pearl Jewels.

Boxed Note Card Tutorial

Stampin' Up! Boxed Note Card Tutorial, Stampin' Studio

You know what I love when it comes to paper crafting?  Well, I love lot’s of things, but one thing that I really love is when things go together in sets, when they coordinate, and when they’re neat and tidy and can be given as gifts.  I love that and that’s how I feel about this Boxed Note Card set I created featuring the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the Crafting Forever stamp set.  A few weeks ago, I showcased a couple full sized cards I made like this (you can see that post HERE).  Now I’ve made them for our Note card and envelopes and created an adorable box for the cards and matching envelopes.

When you open the box up it’s got a pocket for the cards and a sleeve for the matching envelopes and i’ts all tied up with the pretty Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon.  Not only did I design the project but I have created a step by step tutorial with photos to allow you to recreate this with ease.  Once you finish the project you’ll have to decide if you’re keeping it yourself or if you’re going to give it away as a gift.  The tutorial is yours FREE when you sign up for my Stampin’ Studio News!
