Copper Embossing with Wood Words stamp set

Stampin' Up!, Wood Words stamp set, Stampin' Studio

The Wood Words stamp set has such a beautiful image of flowers.  For today’s card I stamped the image in VersaMark ink on the whitewashed print from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and I heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.  Once the embossing was done I used an Aqua Painter to pick up some of the Fresh Fig ink and I color washed those delicate embossed flowers.  The leaves in the image were colored in with the Pear Pizzazz Marker.  The sentiment, from the Wood Words stamp set was stamped in Fresh Fig and then I tied a bow with the wonderful 1/4″ Copper Trim.  To carry on the copper theme I have going, I added a banner of Copper Foil Paper.

Turning a Negative into a Positive with the Pretty Label Punch

Stampin' Up! Label Me Pretty stamp set, Pretty Label Punch, Label Me Pretty Bundle, Stampin' Studio

Today’s card gives a little twist to the Pretty Label Punch by using the negative (leftover) part of the cardstock instead of the punched out piece, thus turning a negative into a positive!  After stamping the piece of Powder Pink cardstock with the “speckles” from the Touches of Texture stamp set, the Pretty Label Punch was punched out and set aside for a future project, while the negative piece was centered over a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was stamped with the floral image from Label Me Pretty.  This was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add depth.  The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and is punched out with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch. Pairing the soft feminine flowers in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper with the pretty floral images in the stamp set ties it all together flawlessly.

This Little Piggy

Stampin' Up! This Little Piggy stamp set, Stampin' Studio

When I attended Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage event in Minneapolis back in April, I saw some cards on the display boards featuring the This Little Piggy stamp set.  I fell in love with it immediately!  The images are just adorable with four different happy little piggies and and sweet sentiments.  I knew I’d be putting this set on my “must have list”.  Well, lucky for me I didn’t have to wait long, because Stampin’ Up! gave everyone at the event the This Little Piggy stamp set.   This is the very first card I created with new product from the catalog and I just love it!  I mean, how can you not smile when you see the smile on that little pigs face?  Right?

Let’s Take a Closer Look

The image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black ink (you’ll always want to use either the Basic Black or Basic Gray inks when you’re watercoloring).  Next I water colored the pig with Powder Pink ink and the Aqua Painter for a very light little pig.  I used colored in the frass and the stem with the Lemon Lime Twist Marker and the flower center with Daffodil Delight.   I added texture with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder and tossed in lots of layers with the use of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and matted rectangles and circles.  I also added a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon.
