Serene Scenery Makes a beautiful Sympathy Card

My friend Cathy made this beautiful card with only one stamp and I think it’s stunning.  The simple sentiment comes from Flourishing Phrases and the beautiful texture in the back ground was created with the Cable Knit Embossing Folder, but the most stunning part of this card is the water.  Who knew the designer paper called Serene Scenery could make such a beautiful Sympathy card?

The beauty of the Serene Scenery DSP Stack is that one side of the paper is photographs of nature, like the water and sand shown on this card.  and each photo print has space to stamp with out covering over a significant part of the photo.  In my opinion this paper is a must have for so many uses.

 

Warm Heartfelt Greetings for a Very Merry Christmas

You know that a Christmas card doesn’t have to look like a Christmas card, right?  There are no pine trees or angels, or bells and boughs or even Santa or Jesus, yet this is a Christmas card.  I love the sentiment “Warm Heartfelt Greetings for a Very Merry Christmas” which comes from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.  It reminds me of my niece Katie and her family who lived in Alaska for a few years.

Crumb Cake: 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ score at 4 1/4″ for card base

Garden Green: 5 1/4″ x 3″

Whisper White: 5″ x 2 3/4″

Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack: 1″ x 5 1/4″

On this card base the front flap is 1″ smaller than the back of the card.  This allows you an opportunity to add a little pizzazz in the form of the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack to the inside and have it show on the outside of the card.  The Eskimo and his juggling snowballs are stamped in Basic Gray and colored in with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers while the sentiment is stamped in Garden Green.

Even though the calendar won’t register Autumn for a few more days there are sure signs here in Wisconsin that Fall is here.  Schools been back in session for a few weeks now, so there are football games and homecoming and the leaves are falling from the trees.  The stores are filled with all kinds of fall and Halloween decor, so are you ready for some Spooky Fun?  There is a stamp set in the holiday catalog called Spooky Fun with all kinds of wonderful fall and Halloween images and there are even coordinating dies called Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies.

Okay, this is simple…are you ready… using the Spooky Fun stamp set, stamp the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie ink and the bats and sentiments in Basic Black ink.  Now, look at the photo and layer the pieces of card stock as shown.  Ta Da…you’re done!
