What I Love Card Set

Project 1:

I wanted to start sharing the projects we did at Stampin’ Sisters Retreat this past weekend.  One of the products everyone received in their box of goodies was the What I Love stamp set.  We created these 6 cards with the stamp set and everyone got a full roll of the Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon and a package of Blender Pens to take home too.

Each of these cards also used the Perfect Pairings Stamp set and some ribbon.

1-2

A bit of texture added to this card with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

1-3

I love the various shades of Melon Mambo Ink in this card.  It was done by stamping on flower in full strength in, another by stamping off once and the final flower by stamping off twice.

1-4

For these very faint Rich Razzleberry flowers, we stamped the outline image in Rich Razzleberry Ink and then used a blender pen without no extra ink and simple colored over the flower which pulls ink from the already stamped flower and drags it into the inside of the flower leaving a light shade of the originally stamped color.  The we did a bit of fussy cutting along the bottom of the row of flowers.

1-5

Here a pretty circle of dainty daisies are the star of this card.  The center of the flowers were colored in with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

1-6

The final card of the set was stamped with the Triple Time Stamping technique with Wisteria Wonder Ink.  I love how the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder adds interest to the background by repeating the flower motif.

Project 2 is coming tomorrow so be sure to come on back.

Stampin’ Sisters retreat: The gangs all here!

I’ve been sharing some of the details of our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat we had over this past weekend and I’ve got more to share with you today.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

We always take a break mid afternoon on the second day to get a group photo.  Can I just say it’s hard to get a picture where everyone shows up.  This is such an amazing group of people, I love them to pieces.  That’s my sister Peggy sitting next to me front and center.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

Each morning when we unlock the retreat gathering room we have a special little treat waiting at each of their spots.  Saturdays gift was this French Fry Box made from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper.  We filled a Cello Bag with some amazing Salted Caramel Chocolates (these are to die for) and tied them up with the Baker’s Twine Combo.  The cute little tag on the box comes from the Sweet Stack stamp set.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

The gift that was waiting for each of them on Sunday morning was this adorable little note book that has Post-it notes, a pen and Post-it flags inside.

We offer an optional card swap for those that wish to participate.  This year we had 50 of our 60 guests participate in the swap.  Prior to retreat they designed a card and reproduced it 50 times and traded with the other participants.   All of the cards from the swap were then put on display for the card contest.

…and the winners were…

in third place Gail Diss won the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit

in first place Kim Vale won the Precision Plate for the Big Shot

in second place Cheri Carol won the Magnetic Platform

This is Kim’s winning card which features the Botanical Gardens DSP and Botanical Builder Framelits and the Drapery Fold.  And if this isn’t amazing enough like this….

check out the inside of the card.  The flowers pop right out of the card!

Cheri’s card featured a pinwheel made from the It’s My Party DSP, and the cool part here is that the pinwheel spins and rolls across the card.  Isn’t that fun?

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

Gail’s card is a feminine birthday card which features the Blooming Heart Thinlits, and the Bold Butterfly Framelits, as well as Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the Hostess Exclusive Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set.

Lot’s of talented and creative ideas, wouldn’t you say?

Tomorrow I will start to share the projects we made, so check back then.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: It’s all in the details

Okay, so remember yesterday when I showed you the four tiered cake I made for our Stampin’ Sisters retreat?  Here’s what the individual pieces looked like.  Not only did we fill each piece with candy, we also put a number 1 through 60 in the boxes.  This was for playing a game.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

When their number was called they got to play the classic birthday game of dropping clothes pins in a jar.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

When they got two clothes pins in the jar they won a prize!

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

Each prize was valued at approximately $15 and of course everyone was a winner.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

One of our main goals at retreat is to surprise and delight those in attendance with special treats so…. We had a Candy Buffet which was a big hit.

We had little gifts for the “Newbies”.  That is people that had never attended Stampin’ Sisters Retreat before.  We had nine newbies this year and they each got this cute gum holder.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

We had a gift of an explosion album for our “All Timers”.  That is those who have attended everyone of our Stampin’ Sisters Retreats.  We had 5 All Timers this year and their album included photos from our first retreat.  That sure brought back some fun memories.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

And we also recognized our Stampin’ Express Community Members who attended retreat.  We had 19 team members there and they each got a pin wheel filled with Skittles.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

We had Peggy’s husband Tony come and provide scissor sharpening.  Many took advantage of this services.

Stampin' Sisters Retreat

Afetr a busy morning of Stamping on Saturday we provided a delicious Italian Buffet.
