Lot’s of Pretty Petals

For todays card I decided to use lot’s of pretty petals.  The stamp set is Garden in Bloom and it certainly has some pretty petals (flowers) in the set.  I love the 2 step stampin’ of this set.

I also used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack for the little banner piece that is running through the piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  My color palate for this card came directly from the Pretty Petals DSP.  Did you also notice how the Elegant Dots Embossing on the background mimics the dots of the flowers in the DSP.  Love it!

Circle of Spring

One thing that get’s me excited is when Stampin’ Up! comes out with things to coordinate with product I already have.  Last fall when the Holiday catalog came out I fell in love with and ordered the Wonderful Wreath Framelits and coordinating Wondrous Wreath stamp set.  Now with this years annual catalog they’ve come out with yet another stamp set that coordinates with the Framelits, it’s called “Circle of Spring”.

I used Mint Macaron and Soft Sky with Whisper White for this delicate
birthday card.

Here you can see that when it’s opened up it’s an easel card. The card base is the normal 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.

When you open the card up you’ll need to cut the right half of the flap off.

Score the left half of the flap at 2 1/8″.  Fold on the score line and this give you your easel stand.  Then you just attach the matted stamped layer to the bottom of the easel.
Notice the punched out flower?  It’s there to hold the easel up.

Let’s add Texture

On today’s card we have a beautiful sentiment and a stunning focal point, but in my opinion it’s the texture in the background that steals the show.

I cut strips of Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White that each measured 4″ wide and various heights.  I stamped the sentiment from the hostess stamp set called “Happy Birthday, Everyone” in Elegant Eggplant and then ran each of the strips through the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder.  Everything is attached to the Wisteria Wonder card base.  Next the focal point from Wild About Flowers was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder, pinched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and layered on a circle that’s just a bit larger that was cut from the Circle Framelits.  This layer was attached to the card with Dimensionals and embellished with the tiniest of pearls.
