Project 6: Sympathy Cards

A set of six simple and beautiful Sympathy cards was project 6 at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.

It’s always a good thing to have on hand and these cards go together super fast, yet they’re stunning cards.

We made three masculine cards using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

Then we switched up the color and stamp set for the feminine cards.

Serene Silhouettes was the stamp set of choice for these cards.

We replaced Early Espresso sponging with Blushing Bride.

Some of the cards were stamped vertically and some were stamped horizontally.

Here’s what we did. Cut a window in a piece of card stock with the Oval Framelits and used this as a stencil to sponge in.

We laid the stencil over a piece of Very Vanilla card stock which was cut
4″ x 5 1/4″.  Then we sponged inside the oval stencil.  Once the sponging was done, we removed the stencil and stamped the image over the sponged area and mounted this card stock on a Very Vanilla card base.

Tomorrow we’re on to cards for kids.  Super fun, kid friendly cards.

An Important Interuption: Then Project 5: Artisan Embellishment Kit

I want to share another project from the Stampin’ Sisters Retreat, but first I have an important interruption:

Thanks to all of you, I have just earned an all expense paid cruise for Dave and I to the Mediterranean next May.  We will be sailing on Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Epic to Spain, Italy and Greece.

So go ahead and pinch me!  How amazing is that!?!
I couldn’t have done this without Dave’s endless support, as well as that of you, my fabulous customers and friends.  So thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now back to your regularly scheduled programing:

The Stampin’ Sisters Retreat wouldn’t be complete with out a card set in a coordinating box, and that’s where project 5 comes into play.

All of the cards in this boxed set featured the Artisan Embellishment Kit.  Everyone received the Artisan Kit to take home.

The first card used the rose die cut piece that came in the kit, which we laid on top of a piece of Whisper White card stock (shown below in card 2) and we sponged the die cut piece with Blushing Bride ink using it as a stencil.  We then attached the colored die cut to the card in the above photo.  The tiny rose embellishments come from the kit as well.

As described above, we used the stenciled piece as an embellishment for card 2 along with the fabric flowers and tiny lace doily from the kit.

Card 3 featured the Rose Red Lace trim and the large Very Vanilla Rose embellishment from the kit.

The tiny Silver Metallic Button on card 4 came straight from the Artisan Embellishment Kit.

Card 5 used the Large Pearl Jewels from the kit.

And finally the Blackberry Bliss Velvet Ribbon from the Artisan Embellishment Kit was used on the 6th card.

The set of six stunning cards fit beautifully in the coordinating hand made box.  This would make a wonderful gift for someone.

Tomorrow’s project is a set of masculine and feminine sympathy cards that can be whipped up in a matter of minutes.

Project 4: Guy Cards

The 4th project set for the Stampin’ Sisters Retreat was a set of
six cards for guys.

Each of the cards in this set featured the “Guy Greetings” stamp set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.

Some of these cards also used the Neutrals Candy Dots, so everyone received a package of the dots to use and take the rest home.

I love this stamp set and how there’s something appropriate for every guy.

Come back tomorrow to see Project #5 which is a boxed set of cards you’re going to love.
