Stamp Crop & Cruise Retreat Projects

Last week I hosted my annual Stamp Crop & Cruise Retreat to the Western Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas.  To say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement!  I wanted to share with you all of the projects I designed for the retreat in hopes it will inspire you to do a little stamping.

Stamp, Crop & Cruise 2022, Stampin' Studio

We visited 4 amazing ports during the 7 day cruise but we did our stamping and crafting on the days we were at sea.  I designed a total of 8 classes that everyone got to make.

Stampin' Up!, Flowering Rainboots Bundle, Framed Art, Stamp Crop & Cruise, Stampin' Studio

Project 1: Flowering Rainboots Wall Plaque features the Flowering Rainboots Bundle and it’s attached directly to a wooden plaque, which everyone received as a gift.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Afternoon Fun Fold Cards, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 2: Daffodil Delight Fun Fold Cards featured the now retired Sale-a-bration Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper.  We made 6 different cards each with a unique Fun Fold feature.  Everyone received a package of the Classic Matte Dots to embellish these cards.

Stampin' Up! Nothing's Better Than Cards, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 3: Nothing’s Better Than Boxed Cards were a lot of fun.  We used a different portion of the Rainbow Glitter Paper for the background of each card.  These were embellished with the Adhesive Backed Hexagons (everyone got their own package of these embellishments).  We also stamped the Kraft Box which the set of 4 cards and envelopes for in.

Stampin' Up! Simply Elegant Cards, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 4: Simply Elegant Cards were a big hit due to the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper.  We created the 8 cards which were stamped with sentiments for weddings, anniversary and sympathy.  Everyone received a roll of the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon as well as a package of the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed  Dots.

Stampin' Up! Batik Boutique Cards, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 5: Batik Boutique Cards were a cheerful addition to our card collections.  Bumblebee, Night of Navy and Granny Apple Green made for a springtime feel to these cards.  We used the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon on these cards and everyone took a roll of the ribbon home with them.

Stampin' Up! Pierced Blooms Cards, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 6: Pierced Blooms Card set used the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (an exclusive Host product) and of course the Pierced Blooms Dies.  Each card was embellished with the Polish Dots, and you guessed it, my guests got to take these embellishments home with them too.

Stampin' Up! Pierced Blooms Card Box,, Stamp Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 7: Black & White Card Box also uses the Pattern Party DSP and the Pierced Blooms Dies.  This box is the perfect size to hold the 30 cards we made on the cruise.  Notice the “stitching” on the box?  We did that by hand using the Stampin’ Chalk Marker which everyone got to keep.

Stampin' Up! Scrapbook Pages, Stamp, Crop & Cruise Stampin' Studio

Project 8:  24 scrapbook pages!  Yes, you read that right…everyone got busy with the project kit I created and finished all 24 12″ x 12″ scrapbook pages.  This was a big hit because now all they needed to do was get their photos from the trip printed off and fill up the pages.  Everyone received a package of the Loose Flower Flourishes to add to the cute flip-lops which embellished one of the pages.

Stampin' Up! Stamp Crop & Cruise, Stampin' Studio

In addition to all of the projects and product I’ve already mentioned, my guests also received a Stamp Crop & Cruise goody bag to hold all of their stuff, 6 Stampin’ Blend Combo’s, a package of 8 Stampin’ Spot ink pads, a Take Your Pick Tool, Multi-purpose Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, a Blending Brush, and a Stampin’ Pierce Mat!

My 2022 cruise is over, but we are looking forward to my 2023 cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.  We’ve already got a bunch of people registered for it and I would love to have you join in the fun next February.  You can get all the details and get registered for Stamp Crop & Cruise by clicking HERE

Paradise Palms with Blended Background technique

I created this card for a demonstrator event a little while ago and just realized I hadn’t shared it with you yet.  It uses the Paradise Palms stamp set and has a Blended Background Technique.

Stampin' Up! Paradise Palms stamp set, Stampin' Studio

Color Combo

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  I attached the straight edge of a Post-it Note across the cardstock covering up the lower two-thirds.  Next I rubbed a Blending Brush in Mango Melody ink and blended the color onto the top third of the Basic White piece making sure the color was darkest in the center of this area.  After removing the Post-it Note, I added a bit more Mango Melody to the lower two-thirds (where the water would be) so that it would appear like the suns reflection in the water.  I reapplied the Post-it Note covering up the top third of the cardstock here the first portion of the Mango Melody was blended on. Bermuda Bay ink and another Blending Brush gave me the water.  Note how the shading is darker in the distance and lighter in the foreground. For the sand, I tore a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock and adhered it on the lower edge of the water, then die-cut a circle using the largest of the Layering Circle Dies.  The Palm Trees were colored directly on the stamp with Early Espresso and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers before they were stamped on the circle.
The card base is Mango Melody and the Basic White layer is embossed with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder along the right edge and the sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, then the die-cut circle is attached with Dimensionals and a Linen Thread bow was added with a Mini Glue Dot.

Todays card reminds me of the gorgeous scenery we had last week on my Stamp, Crop & Cruise Retreat On Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.  We had a blast at 4 different ports exploring and participating in different excursions of our choice.  We stamped and crafted on the days we were at sea, and completed 30 cards, a wall hanging, 2 boxes to hold the cards and 24 scrapbook pages to put our cruise retreat pictures in!
