I wanted to showcase the Merry Melody Embossing Folder and the Holly Border Punch today as I think it’s two of those products that gets lost in the catalog.
The Merry Melody Embossing Folder was used to emboss the Basic White piece, which has been added to a piece of Real Red cardstock, adds texture and visual interest to this simple card. After adding the bow made from the White Glittered organdy Ribbon, I scattered a few of the Subtle Shimmer Sequins to draw the eye back to the embossing.
The sentiment comes from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Memento ink on Basic White that has been die-cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies and mounted on a layer of Basic Black card stock. The two Holly Berries were punched out of Green Foil with the Holly Border Punch. The punch is designed to punch a Holly border, but I used the punched Holly Leaves to embellish the card, then added a few of the Red Rhinestones and just like that the card is finished.

I created this card for my monthly Christmas Card Class in October. It features the Merriest Moments Bundle. This bundle has the Merriest Moments stamp set and coordinating Merriest Frames Dies Hybrid Embossing Folder.
I used Thick Basic White cardstock for the card base and I embossed it with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder and stamped the sentiment in the framed portion with real Red ink. Next I stamped the flowers in Real Red ink on Basic White (2 small flowers and 1 large flower) and the leaves with Old Olive ink (3 sets of leaves). Once the images were stamped, I die-cut them with the Merriest Frames and popped them up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished the card off with a couple small pieces of Glittered Organdy Ribbon tucked under the flowers and a few of the Subtle Shimmer Sequins on the center of the flowers.

Don’t you just LOVE the beautiful colors nature blesses us with each fall? Today’s card really evokes all those gorgeous Autumn shades. The background of this card was created using the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Technique. I’ve seen many videos on the technique, many of them did not give me good results, so this video is all about the ins and outs of getting great results with the Alcohol Technique.
Bumblebee: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4” and scrap for leaf
Cajun Craze: 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
Basic White: 5” x 3-3/4” and 1” x 4-1/4”
White Vellum: 5” x 3-3/4”
Old Olive: scrap for leaf
Cherry Cobbler: scrap for leaf
Tips:
Alcohol must be 91% or higher
Color blends on vellum leaving plenty of uncolored area as things will spread
Dip brush in lightest color and “pounce” brush on the color, then wipe brush off before pouncing on the next lightest color.
Once all pouncing is done, splatter alcohol on vellum to create little splotches
Splatter with Wink of Stella
Attach vellum to Basic White
