How about a Little Sneak Peek?

Sneak Peak, Stampin' Studio

The Holiday catalog goes live in just three more days on September 1st and I must say it is absolutely fantastic…you are going to love it!!  There are wonderful bundles of new stamp sets, Big Shot Framelits and embossing folders, punches, designer series papers, ribbons, great new kits and oodles of accessories.  So let’s start out with a sneak peek of a card made with items from the Spooky Night Suite.

Stampin' Up! Spooky Cat stamp set, Cat Punch, Spooky Night Designer Series Paper, Vintage Crochet Trim, Halloween Card, Stampin' Studio

My team member Amanda Waldhart made this card for a Halloween display that was featured at our team meeting over the weekend.  Isn’t it just so cute and simple?  The sentiment, which she stamped three times, comes from the Spooky Cat stamp set and it’s highlighted with layers of circles which were cut from the Layering Circle Thinlits.  She carried the circle theme to the background with the use of the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.  I love how she added the band of paper ribbon that she punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch….and just like that you’ve got a quick and easy Halloween card! She took the color palette for the card from the adorable Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.

Here she made some absolutely adorable candy wrapper and party favors.  Look at that owl box in the back corner, it’s one of our Mini Pizza Boxes which holds candy treat very nicely.  Next to the owl box she made a little bag topper and filled a cello bag with yummy treats.  I am so in love with the jar of candy corn with the cat on top.  The Cat Punch is part of the Spooky Night Suite too and you know what makes it even better?  One of the prints in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper is a page full of cats that can be punch out perfectly with the Cat Punch! Finally, she used one of our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes which she filled with orange Jelly Beans, then wrapped some of the Spooky Night DSP around the box and finished it off with another cat.  All of the images and sentiments on these treat containers all come from the Spooky Cat stamp set.  Did you know you can save 10% when you purchase the Spooky Cat stamp set and Cat Punch together as a bundle.  Yup, that’s right, and September 1st is your first chance at it!

I hope you’ll join me tomorrow when I’ll be sharing a Sneak Peek look at the Painted Autumn Suite

With Faith All Things are Possible

Stampin' Up! Ribbon of Courage stamp set, Move Me Thinlits, Embossing Paste, Stampin' Studio

I received this beautiful card in a card swap from Linda Bauwin.  It seems appropriate to post this today, because today is the day I’m going back to my day job after being off for three weeks for my back surgery.  Prior to surgery I had extreme pain down my entire right leg and now I have none.  Faith and prayers had a lot to do with the success of my surgery as well as the skills of my surgeon and the wonderful medical staff.  The butterfly signifies a rebirth which is what it feels like to me.  I am now able to walk my doctors required 5 miles each day and I feel like a whole new person.

So anyway, let’s talk about the details of this card.  First of all, you can’t go wrong with the simple and classic white and black color combination.  The texture you see on the Whisper White cardstock is the Embossing Paste which was applied with Palette Knives through the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  It’s so easy to do and dries really quick.  The gorgeous die cut butterfly is from the Move Me Thinlits and it is my absolute favorite butterfly we’ve ever had.  And finally the wonderful sentiment comes from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.  Don’t you just love that font?

Today is the final card from the class he taught.  How can you not smile with the cheerful print on the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper?  The Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight and a fun color combination that just pops.  To get the diagonal cut to the Designer Paper, I cut a square that measured 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ then cut it from corner to corner which gave me two diagonal cut pieces.  These diagonal pieces were attached to a 4′ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock leaving a white band perfect for stamping the sentiment (which is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set).  I then attached a piece of the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon vertically.  For the daisy , I stamped the image two times on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the Daisy Punch.  Next I used the Bone Folder to curl the edges of teach petal and layered these flowers on top of one anther with a Stampin’ Dimensional between for a bit more depth.  The final touch was the addition of a Clear Faceted Gem in the center of the daisy.
