Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: Project 1 Any Occasions Card Collection

So, after 4 days of showing you all of the decorations, treats, surprises and more from our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat it’s now time to start focusing on the projects everyone made.  You can view my other posts from retreat HERE, HEREHERE and HERE.   We completed Project 1 Friday evening.  Everyone received the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Any Occasion, and we used it to make this collection of six cards.  The Any Occasions stamp set features banners and tassels and sentiments which you can make into so many different fun ways to celebrate.  Each of the cards also featured some of the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper called Carried Away.  All of the supplies were cut and bagged and we had printed directions so everyone could work at their own pace.

We made a card for a baby boy by adding the hot air balloon from the Lift Me Up stamp set.

A birthday present was created by using one of the dies from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies tucked behind a piece of Carried Away Designer Series paper.

Delicate die cut butterflies from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits secured the It’s a Girl Banner.

A Thank You card which had a “cirlce” theme everywhere on the cards.

Fun diagonal banners in Smoky Slate and watermelon Wonder were accented with a delicate heart from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies.

There’s kind of a nautical look to this Hello card which has added texture with the use of the Seaside Embossing Folder.

Tomorrow we’re onto project 2 which uses the Cupcakes & Carousels embellishment Kit.  See you then.

Price: $110.00

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat: It’s a Family Thing!

I’ve talked about my sister Peggy and my niece Katie Campbell (both members of my team) before on my blog, so I thought it was time you got to meet them.  Katie helped us this year with some of the cutting of supplies for the projects.  We also had help from my team member Amanda.  We are all modeling the new Stampin’ Sisters T-shirts we had made for this years retreat.

Sunday morning when they returned to the room everyone found a little Circus Treat box waiting at their spots.  I used the Window Box Thinlits Dies and the Carousel Birthday stamp set to decorate the box.  Inside was a package of the Sprinkles Embellishments.

More Fun from the Stampin’ Sisters Retreat!

Peggy and I get pretty silly when we’re together and our Carnival Themed Retreat was no exception.  We decided to wear some nasty looking “carnie” teeth so that we fit in with the carnival theme.

For our retreat this year we designed eight different projects/classes that we spent the whole weekend making.  We had two “Play Stations” set up for everyone to use.  At these “Play” stations we had a Big Shot Station, a Punch Station and a Stamp Station.  This made the projects run pretty smoothly.

We love to surprise and delight our stampers, so Saturday morning when they arrived to their seats we had a treat bag filled with the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit.

No stamping event is complete without some card swapping, so of course we did that too!  We had 70 of the 80 attendees participate in the card swap.  They each designed a card and made enough of that card to swap/trade with the others.  Of those that swapped we also had a card contest.

We even had one stamper who decided to participate in the card swap with a non card entry.  She made cupcakes for everyone.  Needless to say, Sandy’s swap was a huge hit!

The cards were all amazing, so we had everyone vote on their favorite cards.  Check out the winners:  Right to left we have 3rd place: Pam Sorenson, 2nd place: Sue Coomber, and 1st place: Colleen Kerl

Peggy’s husband Tony came to retreat on Saturday to sharpen all of the scissors that needed it.  This was a much needed service.  Thanks Tony.

We also provided an Italian Buffet for lunch, complete with antipasto, salad, garlic bread, two kinds of pasta, grilled chicken, meatballs, marinara sauce and alfredo sauce as well as cookies and brownies for dessert.  Yum!  Here’s Mark our chef.
