Keep it simple with Pretty Pines & Pine Bough

Sometimes when you want something to be noticed you keep it simple.  That’s exactly what I did for today’s card.  The Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies and the Pine Bough Embossing Folder create a stunningly beautiful card that is not over done.

Ready, Set, Cut

Always Artichoke: 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base

Cherry Cobbler:  3 3/4″ x 5″

Very Vanilla: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

Early Espresso:  Scrap for the Pine Cones

Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine: two 6″ pieces for a double bow

I started out with a vintage Christmas color palette and ran the Very Vanilla card stock through the Pine Bough Embossing Folder.  Next I colored over the embossed Pine Boughs with the Clear Wink of Stella Paint Brush.  I’m sad it doesn’t show up well in the photo but trust me it looks stunning because the pine needles sparkle like they’re covered in snow.  The sentiment was stamped in Always Artichoke and comes from the Stitched with Cheer stamp set.  Next I cut out two pine cones using my Big Shot and the Pretty Pines Thinlits and attached them with dimensionals.   The final accessory is the Mini Pinecones which are tied on with some of the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine which comes in the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack.

Monochromatic Petals & Paisleys Suite

I don’t know how much you’ve really studied the prints in the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper, but there is a real variety of stunning prints.  For today’s card we’re making a monochromatic card using the Petals & Paisleys Suite.  The suite features the Paisleys & Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelits Dies, the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Pretty Paisleys Textured Embossing Folder.  We’re using all but the embossing folder today.

Ready set Cut

Rich Razzleberry:  1″ x 4 1/4″ score at 5 1/2 for card base and scrap for Scallop Square Framelit

Very Vanilla: 3 3/4″ x 4″ for bottom layer, 3 3/4″ x 2 1/8″ for layer under DSP, 2″ x 2″ for flower layer

Sweet Sugarplum: scrap for flower

DSP from Petals & Paisleys: 3 3/4″ x 2″

Rich Razzleberry Ribbon: 10″

This card is monochromatic because Sweet Sugarplum is actually a lighter version of Rich Razzleberry, that’s why they look so great together.  If you notice the designer paper has both Sweet Sugar Plum and Rich Razzleberry in it, so I just stuck with those colors as I stamped the flower from Paisleys & Petals and die cut it with the Paisley Framelits and layered it on the piece of Very Vanilla.  The Layered Square Framelits made it easy to “frame up” the focal point.  I added the Razzleberry Ribbon from the 3/8″ Ribbon Trio Pack which comes in a package of two other rolls of ribbon (Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron).  The sweet sentiment comes from the Tin of Cards stamp set which I stamped in Sweet Sugar Plum.

Demonstrator Make & Take: Holiday Catalog Edition

Yesterday was our annual Demonstrator Make & Take for the Holiday Catalog followed by a business meeting.  Peggy and I design and prep 20 cards using new product from the Holiday Catalog.  All demonstrators are welcome to attend the event so they have samples to share with their customers.  We had cards that covered so many occasions, fall, sympathy, birthday, thank you, Halloween, and Christmas.  There were great presentations and business ideas and of course great people to share the day with.

Besides stamping, there’s always lots of sweet and savory treats to be shared.

Team member Sandi went above and beyond the call of duty and made 100 mini cupcakes!

Of course there was a lot of stamping going on too!  Here is one of the cards everyone made.
